using your CVS extra care card can be frustrating at times. I had a special deal that I didn't want to lose and Diane was super helpful in getting it all ironed out. Nice person to help out like she does. CVS, you have a great person working for you there!!! Thanks again Diane
I have been a diabetic for 21 years. A type 1 insulin dependent diabetic. Today I was in between service calls at my job and needed to take my insulin for food that I had ate. In the process of trying to draw my insulin the needle on my syringe broke and I had no extras with me. Prior to going into the CVS in LaGrange, I googled the laws on buying syringes to see if you had to have a prescription. In the state of Indiana you do NOT have to have a prescription whether or whether or not it is preferred by the specific pharmacy selling them. I was on the verge of feeling very sick because I had yet to take my insulin when I walked into this pharmacy. I had asked if I could purchase some insulin syringes. The lady behind the pharmacy counter then asked me if I had a prescription. I followed by asking "you need one in Indiana?" She then followed by saying "no but it is at the pharmacist discretion." I was then asked if I got my prescriptions at CVS and I said no not here because I am not from Lagrange. If I did at any point in time it was in South Bend. She looked up my records according to my name and birth date and could not find any records. Then followed to look me up and down as to judge me and said "we will not be selling those to you". As if to say they didn't want to be responsible for me doing drugs and making assumptions that that had been my purpose for needing them. I would understand the concern if I looked drugged out walking in and ratty clothes such as torn jeans and a wife beater and looked unbathed. But I was in my clean work uniform clean cut. You can understand how belittled I felt as I walked away starting to feel very sick. If it wasn't for another family owned pharmacy within the same area that heard my concern and understood and was willing to sell them to a legit diabetic, I would have spent the rest of my day being very ill from having elevated blood sugar levels. I was not from this area in between service calls on the job and could not travel all the way back to South Bend to grab more syringes in the middle of my work day. This lady and I did not catch her name so I would refer to her as the so-called "pharmacist" did not seem to care less about my well-being and would rather just assume I was some sort of drug addict. So I would like to give your store a very professional one star rating for your very unprofessional service and general care about someone's well-being. Thank God there are still some decent human beings in this world. You will not find them at this CVS.
Shorter hours at pharmacy, Saturdaysclosed all day then moved tome to open to 10 to 6. Pharmacist failed to come to work for 2 days so pharmacy closed. Live in rural area and drove through winter conditions, icy roads to find put pharmacy closed. Ongoing issues. Time to find another pharmacy.
I walked into the store... No associates were anywhere to be found. I proceeded with my shopping I eventually passed the pharmacy, where the pharmacist on duty greeted me with a friendly hello, I replied hello and continued shopping. I made my final selection toward the front of the store, when I approached the register that is surrounded by plexi glass the cashier asked if I had a mask to which I replied no, the cashier proceeds to tell me she can't ring me up without it. She never asked if I was medically able to wear one. I asked if their store knew that the governor had lifted covid restrictions. She told me it didn't matter. Again I was never asked if I was able to wear a mask, nor was I offered curb side assistance. I was told no mask no service. I left the store without my purchase. I went back in a few moments later while on hold with cvs corporate office. I asked for the manager,. Oddly enough the VERY SAME person who had greeted me happily while I was NOT masked earlier told me I had to wear a mask. I replied that I was unable to wear a mask and asked if it was ok with them to discriminate against people who cannot wear masks... She again told me a suddenly HAD to wear a mask even though she never asked while I was shopping earlier. I recorded the incident. With my phone. They asked me several times to stop recording while I continued to ask if it was their policy to discriminate against people who are medically unable to wear masks. As I made my way to leave the cashier confronted me again about wearing masks. She told me "we don't need people like you here". I said people like me, like people who are medically unable to wear a mask?! THAT IS DISCRIMINATION! Ultimately, I spent nearly 30 minutes in the store total UNMASKED. CVS had the opportunity to ring up my single item purchase and allow me to go peacefully on my way, instead they chose to elevate a situation. I have visited several other cvs stores in my area and I have NEVER been asked to wear a mask and I have NEVER been treated poorly or discriminated against. I certainly hope the horrible people at this location are disciplined for their behavior! I hope companies everywhere can learn to be more compassionate and less judgmental as the world attempts to get back to normal. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
THIS IS DIRECTED TO THE PHARMACY NOT ANY OTHER PART OF THE STORE! My boyfriend had went to the dentist and had teeth pulled earlier in the day and the Dentist office sent TWO prescriptions, ONE was amoxicillin and the other ONE was for pain. Well when we went to pick up the medicine the lady behind the counter The pharmacy manager, a women was very rude to my boyfriend when he went inside to get his medicine. She had said that his insurance didn’t cover it. He did not have insurance last he knew, so he said he did not have insurance and the lady got very rude about the whole thing. So I went inside to see what we could do to get him his medicine. She was rude from the start and I had told her we had gotten sent letters saying he was denied for insurance and said if his insurance didn’t cover it I would pay for it. She then rudely said we are going to send it to Miller’s because it will be covered there. I said okay thank you and have a nice day in a nice manner. Then went to Miller’s. When I got to Millers the pharmacy was perfect and got his meds right away. BUT!!!!! CVS did NOT send both prescriptions in. They sent in the Amoxicillin but no pain medicine. I called CVS to see if they sent both and the rude lady told me that they only received one prescription. My boyfriend then calls the Dentist and tells them everything and the Dentist office DID send BOTH prescriptions to CVS. THIS LADY NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!
