The Valley Street, Maplewood, NJ CVS is one of the most price inflated CVS' I have ever shopped in. Since when did deodorant cost over $17.00? I stopped at this CVS location late one evening on my way home to purchase deodorant and the prices for deodorant blew me away. I couldn't believe that my usual deodorant that costs a little over $7.00 was over $15.00. As I was quickly looking for a reasonably priced deodorant to purchase as CVS security stood in the isle watching me, I noticed a well known men's deodorant brand that usually costs about $5.99 was over $17.00. I thought this had to be a mistake, but as the CVS security guy was still watching me, I checked out other regular items I usually purchase and the items were double the price of what I normally pay at other CVS', Whole Foods, or Target. This is clearly price gouging. Luckily for me and my wallet, I found another deodorant brand that was under $9.00 and with a CVS coupon I used, I paid $.73 at the self-pay register the security guy followed me to making sure I paid for the deodorant he stood in the isle watching me select... unbelievable! I have been shopping at CVS for over 30 years. Never again will I shop at this CVS location. I don't need a security detail following me around CVS and waiting in the isle watching me shop and following me to the register to make sure I pay for my purchase. Not to mention the inflated prices are outrageous!
The only pharmacy I’ve ever had to deal with my medicine out of stock and on order EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Which results in me getting my medication a day to a month late! No explanation or responsibility taken. Just the response “it’s out everywhere” It is not out everywhere. Other pharmacy’s actually look at inventory and order what may be needed. If my doctor wasn’t so difficult to get ahold of I would have switched long ago. But they’re pharmacists, they don’t care as it doesn’t affect them.
Drive-thru could have been so simple for PCR test, but after waiting in line for 15 min. for our appointment, it took another 20 min for 3 kits to be prepared the tech couldn’t find the previously uploaded info. I was then sent to the parking lot to administer the test b/c I’d “done it before” a year ago for travel, but with no instructions. Had to go BACK to the window and get the 10 seconds of instruction that was left out, and was done a few minutes later. Seriously, there has got to be a better way to organize this so that it doesn’t take 50 minutes for pre-scheduled, with all necessary docs uploaded, for 3 PCR tests! We’ve been at this for years!!
!!RUDE PHARMACIST!! I don’t even know why I bother writing reviews anymore on Google, it’s not like anything ever gets rectified or fixed, but my problem is with this locations pharmacy/staff. I called earlier to request a refill for my medication, and I was connected with a woman who was just downright rude and disrespectful. After telling her about the refill and asking if I could pick them up at a specific time hours in advance she laughed at me, said yes, and then hung up before I could ask her about questions related to my medication. I find that nowadays, young workers are rude, intolerant, and just not being held to the same standard of professionalism that employees once were required to show. I showed up to the location 30 minutes after the time I had requested my pick up which is now multiple hours in advance and I was told that the order wasn’t even put through so now I have to go tonight Without my medication and instead of apologizing I was told that I could either wait or come back tomorrow. The problem is there a certain medication‘s that I need to take tonight and I think businesses need to start holding their employees responsible and taking appropriate action instead of shrugging it off
I just spoke to a female in the pharmacy who was extremely rude. I will take my prescription elsewhere. She cut me off mid sentence and attempted to hang up on me while I was trying to understand what she was saying. She kept telling me something was wrong with my insurance card number. My first and last experience with this pharmacy.
Just got off the phone with the CVS pharmacist Kevin. It was amazing customer service. I felt like he listened and answered my questions without making me feel rushed. Thank you very much Kevin and team
All I needed was one time to come here to know I won’t be coming again. Came to pick up some photos and customer service was in the garbage. She had an attitude the entire interaction. Not to mention how disgusting and out of place everything is. If you can avoid it, please do!
If I could give ZERO stars I would. The pharmacy is taking all the wonderful people of CVS Cande and Davina Wilkins-both wonderful and are running it into the ground. The current pharmacy staff is horrible. They are condescending to all the customers. They close early and then act like the long line of people waiting just magically appeared at the last minute. They are poor customer service personified! The tall African woman and as a Black woman I hate to call another Black person out, but wrong is wrong and she’s WRONG for this role. This role is one of servicing people who are coming in to pick up medicine so likely they are maybe SICK. There’s no grace. No understanding. Nothing. My husband has been begging me to stopping using CVS pharmacy because there’s always an issue lately with what used to be a seamless joyful experience. No more!! We are a family of 6 and pick up numerous prescriptions monthly. I will make it my MISSION to switch every last prescription OUT OF CVS! Anyone reading this you have been warned. Take your business and your patience somewhere else. 1/2023 UPDATE I added 2 Stars The pharmacy experience has gotten better. I am not sure if that is because of changes or if they have my name on a list somewhere and see me coming...just joking but not really. I said I was leaving but I am not because like most creatures of habit, that CVS is convenient for me and my family. I do a few things now to avoid a lot of the frustration. * I plan ahead when at all possible. * If there is a line at the pharmacy and I am even a little frustrated, annoyed or anything else, I don't wait, I just turn around and leave. * I stopped using the drive-thru completely the incident I spoke of was inside the store but the drive-thru was another source of frustration. Now that I do those things, we have a much healthier customer pharmacy relationship. Plus after speaking to several friends and reading reviews for other local pharmacies, it's much of the same wherever you go.
I went to this location today for a covid screening and the associate Kaitlyn was so helpful guiding me through the process. Everything was done quickly and efficiently. I wish other cvs stores ran like this one does.
The pharmacy was awesome, they got my kid’s meds ready so fast when I got there right before the pharmacy closed. Katelyn was super nice and really helped me out at the end of a stressful day!
