Description

Cymbria is a rustic, peaceful campground meant for true campers. The sites are spacious and green, each with their own fire pit. There are on-site activities including a playground, a heated pool, a nature trail, volley ball net, tether ball, a rec room with pool table and mini golf (with a reduced rate for campers). Minutes from some of PEI's best activities Cymbria is located only one kilometer away from Rustico Golf Resort, ten minutes from both Brackley and Cavendish and twenty minutes from Charlottetown.

The lots were very nice with wooded surroundings for privacy. There was a mini putt course but it was falling apart just like all the facilities. The showers and bathrooms were very old and needed major updating and maintenance. There is one new updated shower by the offices but it was coin operated. There was a rec hall with a pool table and updated pool area. The grounds were well kept but there were SO MANY RULES at this camp ground. Everything had a rule to the point of being excessive. Workers were driving around late at night in a utv doing garbage past quite time hours and came onto our site a few times over the stay. Overall not bad but great.
We just got back from a 5 night stay at this wonderful campground. Read some negative reviews from people complaining about the rules. The rules are what make this place great. It is not a party campground. The lots are are very nice and well kept. A wonderful family spot to relax. Pool is big and not overcrowded. Bathrooms and showers are old but kept very clean. Mini-golf if not in new condition but it's a nice added feature for a campground and prices are not outrageous. Staff was very courteous and very responsive. We would not hesitate to stay there again and will recommend it to family and friends.
Now I'll start by saying this is one of the cleanest campgrounds I've ever been to. But that is only because they charge you a damage deposit for your site upon check in. I did not like this, but we were getting desperate for a place to spend the night by the time we got here. We found it quite overpriced for what it is $40 for a tent site, especially considering the lack of paper towels in the washrooms and grungy shower stalls. There is no proximity to the ocean either. Might be worth it if you have children or plan on using the pool. They have people who go around and check your site for garbage as soon as you leave, presumably to find a way to keep your damage deposit. We found this quite odd and a little intrusive since they were hanging around the entrance to our site at 11 am while we were still packing up our things. There are also two very strange rules to note, which we have never encountered at any campsite in the entire country: no mats/pads on the grass and campers in bed by 1 AM! I don't think I've had a bedtime since I was a child. What if you have to get up to use the washroom at 3 am? I also do not understand the mats rule, because wouldn't your tent be the same thing? Check out is also at 12 pm, which is one of the earliest check outs I've encountered. Wouldn't recommend to tenters.
I am thankful we found this gem on an impromptu camping trip to the Island!! Cymbria is a well situated, quiet, private campground on a beautiful property. We were kindly greeted by the owner and provided a nice unserviced wooded site for our small tent trailer. The campground was kept impeccably clean with washrooms and showers frequently cleaned and sanitized. There was a heated pool, nature trail, minigolf, laundry facilities, access to the bay and small store area for those forgotten extras. Perfect for couples and families. Would definitely stay again when returning to the island.
Definitely one of the best camp grounds I've been too! The bathroom area is super clean and so are the tent areas as well. The staff are amazingly friendly and I recommend this place in a heart beat! I will Definitely comeback!
We stayed for two nights park was very clean and well taken care of lots to do and nice walk to the water, staff were awesome, very nice and helpful we will definitely be returning and would recommend this campground to anyone looking to camp in pei. Tent camping is allowed here, great lots and priced well. Mini golf a nice clean daily taken care of pool, horseshoes along with other activities, close to stores and amusement parks also.
Nice spot which is in between Charlottetown and Cavendish 15 minutes away from the latter. Lots of different types of camping spots running from very open to quite private. The washrooms are somewhat dated but well maintained. WiFi is a welcome addition too. Some of the photos show water and beaches, however, this campground is not along the water or a beach. It is a bit of a walk and or drive to either. That's not a bad thing it's just a point to be aware of.
Don’t stay at this campground, especially for Cavy! Owners were very rude and this was by far the worst customer service/camping experience I’ve ever had in my life. We payed a huge amount of money and couldn’t even sit out at our campfire after the concert. I understand some people can be rowdy during the concert weekend but not everyone is like this and there’s no harm calming sitting at the campfire which we were paying for. This is part of the camping experience!!! The bugs were out of this world, poison ivy everywhere and the bathrooms were small and unclean. After coming back from the concert we didn’t even have time to sit around our campfire or make food after a long day at the concert. Security prowled the campsite and made us very uncomfortable and we got in trouble if being outside our tent. Security even got after us for going to the bathrooms!!! Like what?!?? The worst camping experience of my life, I would rather sleep on the side of the road then at this campground.
Last week we have spent three nights in this place, it was just wonderful, every thing went very smooth, the people are very nice and friendly , the place is very clean, we will go back for sure!!!!
We stayed for 8 nights Aug 24 - Sept 1, and would highly recommend this campground for visitors to PEI. All facilities were immaculate and cleaned multiple times daily. The campground was incredibly quiet and restful. The location is great -- close enough to Cavendish and Charlottetown to be very convenient but far enough away from each that you're away from the tourist traffic. All in all, it was a great experience and we'd definitely stay here again.
