Went to visit friend of mine. Did not talk to anyone working there. Place was old and use some updating. Was told that the staff was very easy to work with.
Cypress Woods Care Center took care of my Dad for 4 months prior to his passing. No adult child enjoys the thought of placing their parent in a nursing facility but it was clear that I did not have the skills or ability to care for him at home. No nursing facility is perfect. But my experience with Cypress Woods was very good. However, that said, I made it a point to be present every day of my father’s stay there and I got to know the staff very well. My father was treated very well and the residents and staff became extended family to me. Are there areas that could use improvement? Certainly but that goes for any facility. I would have much preferred to be able to care for him at home but that just wasn’t an option and he remarked to me several times he liked the people who were taking care of him. I’ll always feel bad that a nursing home was necessary but I am happy that we chose Cypress Woods. Nursing Homes have an incredible job to do and the stress the staff is under to provide the level of care that residents need is a daunting task. I would recommend them to anyone needing this type of facility but if you are faced with placing a loved one in a nursing facility….BE PRESENT AS OFTEN AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN BE. Be there for your loved one and be there for the staff. They all need to know that you are there for them.
Juan, Ms. Trammells assistant, was awesome as was all the rest of your staff!!! Ms. Trammell was clean, happy, and contented. Thank you so much
My sister arrived Monday morning and she was greeted and put in a room. She is waiting for her Covid test results before she can be in a regular room. She’s getting settled in and everyone has been very helpful, especially Scott in Physical Therapy thank you for all the help your giving my sister.
My Father, James Runnels,Pete, still needs a hair cut,#2 blade, that I’ve been requesting, for well over a month, if not longer. He needs his mustache shaved off, and his beard trimmed. He has an area of irritation, just below his left eyebrow, that he rubs and messes with, constantly. I’m also concerned about a very wet cough he’s developed. I realize it’s a holiday, but when I visited today, the facility, for the first time, had a “nursing home” smell. That’s VERY unusual, for this facility.
This place is horrible, I feel so bad for the patients. Nearly all have bad sore, bad management, short staffed, don’t care about the patient at all. Dirty environment, patients rooms are filthy.
I appreciate the care she is getting since she has been moved from the other room. The room mate is an Angel they get alone great, both birthdays same date. They enjoy each other. Whoever's the person put her in that room did a great thing. Dorothy Johnson is happy with the move, she is happy so we are happy. Please tell the CNAS great job all i need now is coffee when ever they get a chance she is a coffee drinker. We place her there because she's been there twice for rehabilitated all we want is good care, she's all we got at 94 years. Thank you guys for all you do for Dorothy Johnson. Thank you again.
I'm very happy so far. I met all of the therapist so far and the administrator. They all seem very nice. I like the plan for rehab. A tough start but I believe it will finish good. Looking forward to a more functional father.
Do not let your loved ones stay here. My dad went in as a rehab patient with hip issues and nearly didn’t come out. The doctor here had him on 4mg of Xanax a day on top of other pain and sleep medications which made him hallucinate. He went from being sharp as a tack, to not knowing who his own family was. The nurse staff here are overwhelmed and have no support, you can tell by the exasperated looks on their faces and how they have zero time to talk to you about your loved one. My dad was here two weeks and remembers nothing. The day after we got him home and got the drugs out of his system he was his normal bright and chipper self. I would not put my dog in this facility.
Changed rating because dad came home stating Mom's bandages were filthy and not changed all day. Dad also said he never once saw a nurse come in to give her any pain medicine.
