Super kind and lively people. Best hamantaschen in the area, and the challah is consistently amazing. Great selection of dried fruits and nuts as well.
One of the most down to earth and nice imported stores that I've ever been to. The staff have treated my family like their family, and as far as foreign imports go they have any Jewish or Arab product that you can imagine, cheeses, pastries, cold food, hot food, spices, you name it they got it. Make sure to try out their famous pot pie, for a quick, tasty, healthy and delicious bite! 10/10!
It's a family owned marketplace where you can find handmade gourmet international food and that carries a fantastic selection of food, beer, and spices.. it's a tiny store that packs in it a Lebanese market, a french boulongerie and fromagerie, and a couple other international markets. I was amazed by the talent this family has in making cheeses, bread, pastries, all sorts of Lebanese food and desserts they even cater and their sophisticated taste that reflects in the small but extensive selection of products they have. I'm super stoked to have discovered this gem which is so easy to miss!
I mostly go there for the amazing baguettes warm from the oven, but also check them out when I need some slightly esoteric ingredient. They have high quality olive-oils, authentic spice mixtures, and hard-to-find imported beers. Mid-eastern stuff with a little bit of Eastern-European as well. Also, it seems to be family owned, and they're helpful and friendly.
I have walked by this place hundreds of times on my way home from the grocery store and never thought to go in, today I did, and it instantly became one of my favorite places in Park Slope. The beer selection is one of the best in the area, but the real star for me was the goat cheese balls Roger makes himself. I could have spent all day talking to him about food, good beer, and cider, to me, there isn't anything more enjoyable than talking to a business owner that cares and knows about their product, I recommend this place over Blue apron to anyone looking for specialty and imported items.
Family owned gourmet and real food deli, honoring international and local staples. Fresh breads and preserves made on site. Welcoming and knowledgable owners. The reason for the 4 stars, is the reduction in merchandise that happened a few years back when the store was cut into half its original space.
It is a family business, and when you come to the store the owners always welcome you with a warm smile. Also, it is one of the few places where I can find a high-quality gourmet foods. Wish them all the best!
I LOVE this place. It's a true mammas/pappas store and the owners are so friendly. Everything I've bought has been delicious and when you're in a fix, their selections are great dried spices/herbs by the weight?—yes please. However on occasion I've felt a bit like they're making up prices on the spot. Sometimes things feel a bit more, sometimes a bit less, but I do appreciate that may be my cynicism in me. They're also chronic up-sellers not necessarily a bad thing so expect to be asked if you want pitta with that humous … The humous is delicious though as is their pitta … and all their cakes. And everything … I've often been snared by an up-sell. Definitely a treat worth the splurge though!
Just bought home made jelly and custard donuts for Chanukah. Only place on the avenue that carries Jewish holiday food---and everything is delicious.
While they've downsized over the years, they still have a nice selection of imported and specialty items, along with foods made onsite
