My wife and I have been raising 5 kids in a small farmhouse. A few years ago we tried to find bunkbeds to fit those kids into the small spaces. We shopped all the furniture stores and could find nothing affordable or practical. The cheap ones weren’t worth buying and the expensive ones either didn’t really fit anyhow or were also poorly constructed. I gave up, bought a stack of 2 x 4’s and started building. I was amazed at what some sanding and routing would do to a piece of wood. I got the idea that we weren’t alone in being frustrated by not being able to find a decent bed in the stores and that I could make a business out of making beds. I made an L-shaped twin over twin with a bookcase in the end of the top bunk. It was a really nice unit, but would be too time consuming and expensive to build to sell. And as two kids headed for college, I had this really nice beast of a unit that I could set my 1 ton pickup on but wasn’t as useful since the family circumstances changed. In 2012, I found 1800bunkbed on the internet and saw sturdy nice looking models that were affordable to build and sell at a reasonable price. I also realized that the way to put bunks together was to make the models in a modular fashion allowing people to mix and match the pieces and use them in different ways as their circumstances change. Here we are. I believe that we have the most durable, affordable and practical beds you can buy on the market. I hope to earn your business.
