We were greeted with a warm welcoming smile when we arrived. We started with the muscles...to die for, served in a unique flavorful sauce. Salads were the perfect size and the home made dressings extremely refreshing. Our main courses were both excellent! The braised short ribs were flavorful, cooked to perfection over a bed of polenta. The shrimp and grits again were fantastic. Both dinners are great comfort food. But wait! We shared a melt in your mouth home made pecan pie. The best part of the evening was the food but as important, the volume level was very low. We had easy conversation in a very friendly and relaxed top shelf restaurant.
I never considered myself a fan of creole style food, but a colleague from work that lives in town and frequents this restaurant told me to eat here and order whatever the special of the day was. "Don't look at the menu, just get the special. It will be great." He wasn't wrong. Daddy Mims has turned into a favorite destination for my wife and I. I did the same thing for a dinner with my wife around Valentine's Day--ordered one of the specials. Again, it was great. The fact that it's BYOB allows us to bring along some unique selections that would otherwise not be served at most restaurants, creating a more enjoyable experience. Bridge street has a number of good restaurants, each different from the others. Make sure you give Daddy Mims a try.
Phenomenal food is the norm here. We have never had a less than top notch course. The bread pudding with whiskey sauce alone is worth the visit. Being able to bring your own wine makes it the perfect spot for a wonderful meal.
This meal has been the best food I've had since............ Possibly ever. The food was amazingly prepared, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Service was perfect. I had the chef's tasting menu and I HIGHLY recommend it! Lets you try a few different dishes that are on the menu, all of which were phenomenal. Food: A++++ Atmosphere: B slightly underwhelming, but I like that... it doesn't puff out its chest so to speak and do any "peacocking"... it doesnt need to. minimalistic, but has a light creole/jazz/Orleans flair. Background music fits the restaurant very well and is at a perfect volume. The emphasis is on the food and honestly you could feed me this food in the middle of a trash dump and I would still give this place 5 stars... Service: A+ very nice friendly knowledgeable. attentive but not in your face. i never felt annoyed with too much waitress interaction aka "how is everything, do you need more water? blah blah blah".. yet i was never in need of anything. Always had a full glass of water, dirty plates were taken away promptly... very nice The price is a little high about $25 but honestly with out a doubt WORTH IT! Chef tasting menu was $35 - also very...VERY...worth it.
Daddy Mims is amazing. Good is fantastic. BYOB saves $$ so go ahead and splurge on the fixed price chef's selection. You will NOT be disappointed. It is amazing and super delicious! A real gem in downtown Phoenixville!
Great spot for a a first date or with your loved one. Has the three qualities I look for. 1. Nice atmosphere 2. Nice service. 3. Great product. Ps don't forget your wine like I did. And yes I will eat there again
This is the place I recommend everyone to go to in Phoenixville. Their food was excellent. The wait can be a little while but that is too be expected for weekends with a smaller restaurant. Go...now. You won't be disappointed.
very good imaginative food in this busy phoenixville byo. the slow roasted pork shank and braised short ribs are particular favorites.
The chef put together an amazing vegan dish for me.
Excellent food--really, some of the very best in the region, and we're picky!
