Really enjoyed the Frito pie. Wasn't too crazy about the bacon burger; and it had been so very long since the last time I ate any. The ice cream was wonderfully firm and had the perfect amount of chocolate topping!
I visit this establishment once every 2 weeks. It is a great place to go if you want something a little different. I go for their sides mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, fried pickles, etc.... They are a drive in, but I believe also have dine in. The prices are awesome and my kids love eating there! They take cash, check, or card... unfortunately, you can no longer tip on your card.
Bacon burger kinda bland, couldn't pick up chili dog it was falling apart, bun was to soft. Bacon cheese fries, soggy fries, too much cheese not enough bacon. But the service was great the rootbeer was good and the price was great. But, I definitely got what I paid for.
Dairy Princess has gone down hill. Every time I've been there the last few months hand written signs are on the drive in screens saying, Grill is broke, Grill is down, speaker isn't working, Ice cream machine is down, we are out of whatever they are out of that day Waited 45 Minutes for 3 shakes with 3 cars in drive in a few weeks ago and again 20 minutes for someone to take my order last week. My kids love the shakes there so I keep going back thinking it's gotta get better. My husband took our boys there at 6:45 tonight for a shake, Guess what?!? Car hop says, I am sorry we have already cleaned our ice cream machine.. I checked closing time and it says closes at 8:45. Surely this place can do better than this. New Management maybe? On the plus side, Shakes are good when u can get one.
The sides here are good but their burgers aren't. The crumble burger is basically a sloppy joe without the sauce and their Angus burger was so greasy it poured grease all over my leg when I pulled it out of the bag. Talked to the server and the server said she had never eaten there.
It has been there since 1952. It is an old fashioned dirve in, with car hop service and inside seating. The menu seems limited but it is adequate for a fast food restaurant. You can do the car hop service or eat inside. There is also a nice ice cream menue.
Great local spot that you’ll miss if you don’t look outside the box! If you like Maid-Rite style loose meat sandwiches, this is the stop for you. Fast, greasy and delicious, this is a great way to stop in for a nostalgic carhop style meal! Try the fried green beans!!
perfect little hometown eatery...been in business for 50+ years in the same place..my 10 year old little girls favorite place to eat..even over the main fast food places she wants to eat here...great food..known for their crumble burger..a must have..and dont forget the great ice cream after dinner! Good prices a local feel you won't forget.
Dairy Princess has been around for long time. There crumble burger is well known & loved around the area. Hand dipped shakes, Soft Serve ice cream, Curly Fries & Mushrooms are all big hits.
They have a strange way of taking your order. They simply say " order please". There's no greetings or welcome or appreciation for choosing Dairy Princess. Just an all business, cold, hurry up and order, you are bothering me response. Their loose meat sandwiches are often good but not consistently. Last time , the bun was dry and stale tasting. The meat was warm but not hot. In an area like West Plains people don't have very high expectations so they will probably go on with their low standards.
