One of the best clubs to play chess ! Ignore the rest of the post . The club is not great for its ambience but the dedication of the TD and quality of players is found no where in the entire DFW area . Plus this is always a not for profit club compared to others in the city . The long legacy of this club speaks for itself . Great place to play chess !!
Horrible chess venue. 2 of 3 times I played there the children were absolutely out of control. They could be playing in the park across the street instead of running up and down stairs and creating a noise disturbance above the main playing hall for the FIDE tournaments. Grandmasters play here and they deserve better. They get crammed into the tiny upstairs skittle room for the Friday night tournaments. It was at one of these I decided I'd never play there again. The children weren't just being carelessly disturbing but were actually engaged in willfully disturbing behavior during game play, all the while the tournament directors remaining downstairs for the most part. Disgraceful.
I have very fond memories of taking my kids every Friday night to the Dallas Chess Club. Both my kids became top contenders in the state in scholastic chess. Thanks in large part to the Dallas Chess club!
very nice place forthe chess world.
No. Way to join on line. Or instructions on. Membership
A good venue for kids and youngsters to play chess tournaments every weekend
