Wow the reviews I see here make me feel vindicated. I was suffering with angry depression after crushing a vertebra and Dr. MODI told me I didnt need medicine, never asked about my back, referred to me as being "stuck". I thought he was unkind at best.
You sit in the waiting room for 20 mins to 30 mins after appointment time.. Doctors don't care they just play guessing game for instance they said the flu was a sinus infection no testing no nothing. Doctors also scheduled app at a certain time an make u wait 20 mins to 30 minutes after appointment
This has been my family doctor for over 5 years, yet when I went in today & saw Dr.Bernadette Van Hulle, she told me to my face that she can’t see any of the medical history I’ve mentioned during previous visits with Dr.Modi. My After Visit summary, however, listed everything she claimed to not see. Receptionist at the front desk, older lady with long, grey hair- did not want to help provide me with the number for mammogram scheduling either, as one of her colleagues stepped in & wrote it down for me. Always stressful, & never feel cared about as a patient. Will be switching over to UPMC offices.
Called in at 11:40 am to get a work note… never gave me one and they close in an hour. And when i went in yesterday to test me for covid, they didn’t even know i needed tested when that was what the entire appointment was for.
Thankful that I have an amazing PCP here who listens, cares, and is understanding. However, after explaining my list of concerns that I have put off coming to the dr for, the LPN that checked me in said “well we can’t do everything” which I found very disrespectful and rude.
How has no one mentioned Dr. Heiland yet!! She’s amazing. She’s one of the few doctors that makes direct eye contact when you’re explaining symptoms, extremely thorough, great follow up, very professional, very compassionate, very knowledgeable. I could go on and on. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking for long term medical care with a provider’s office. Unless she quits or leaves, I won’t see another provider.
After years of mediocre treatment I have finally found a doctor that is empathetic, relatable, kind, and amazing at what she does! Dr. Farabaugh is wonderful and I highly recommend her. She was familiar with my records and was sure to cover everything in detail at my first appointment and not only that she asked me TWICE gasp! if I had any questions! Also, when I emailed with a question I received a prompt response. The office staff is very friendly and you can tell they are a well oiled machine when it comes to team work from the front office to the behind the scenes operations. The office is also spotless and very on top of covid protocol. I am so glad that I made the switch.
Consistently had problems with this place not properly accessing paperwork, or going out of their way to call insurance before billing.
My PCP: Dr. Eckert I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Eckert. He is thorough, responsive, respectful, has excellent communication, smart, and has been my PCP for years. He has helped me through many things and I always feel like he “has my back.” As a RN, I can tell you that if you need a PCP - go to Dr. Eckert. He’s the best there is.
Dr. Modi = 1 star The establishment = 4 stars My review is more so about a specific Dr., whom may or may not still be with this establishment Mihir G Modi. If he is, in fact, no longer with this establishment, the office manager can reply here and I will adjust my review accordingly. I found most of the staff to be pleasant and easy enough to deal with. However, I found Dr. Modi rather-off putting, if I'm honest. While he very well may be more passionate about serving his patients than I was unfortunately able to experience for myself, I feel it important to publicly note that he lacked "bedside manner," to say the least. He managed to not only offend me, which isn't easy to do, but more importantly to me, he insulted my wife with his "suggestive" line of questioning regarding my visit. I am a fan of plain speaking, no doubt, but there is respectfully a difference between being necessarily direct as to consider variables of illness and such and flat out lacking tact and coming off as a complete a*****e. His misdiagnosis of my later, easily resolved groin/back/kidney pain and discomfort via another doctor with another firm was so far off base that frankly I questioned his integrity as a family physician. If you are looking for a courteous, tactful and personable doctor to handle you and/or your families needs, I would consider this review before accepting care from Mr. Modi. The establishment, again, wasn't the main issue. I am sure that they house other doctors that operate differently than Mr. Modi.
