The Dana Hills Tennis Center is a unique multi-purpose facility where 6 of the 8 tennis courts sit on top of a 7.8 million gallon water reservoir owned and maintained by South Coast Water District. Proposed in 1978 as a way to more efficiently use land space in the service of the public, SCWD constituents overwhelmingly approved of the concept.
Later, between 1988 and 1990, the additional seventh and eighth courts were added as well as a two story club house. The facility now includes locker rooms, a pro shop, lounge area and a conference room available for rent to non-profit organizations.
