Best Party hall and grocery store owners ever At first, I visited Dana Mandi when it was in downtown at chestnut street. I had mouth watering Paronthe Makhan naal with a big glass of tea then. After 5 years from that time, I recently tried finding this place out again and learned it got shifted to upper darby. I was traveling back to Newyork from DC with my parents and told them i will get you best quality punjabi tea from this place. To my surprise when I reached there, Sardar ji the owner told me that due to huge loss of property due to floods and almost no recurring customer base he had to shut down the food corner :. I felt sad for their situation and politely asked them for an alternative place near by. He said wait, you are my guests now I will get you all some fresh tea from our kitchen downstairs. We sat in their party hall which was under construction then and almost done and he served us delicious tea as his vip guests and not the customers. Later, I also bought groceries for my house since we were heading back after the weekend trip. We felt so much warmth with the respect we received from the gentleman who had such bad time in previous years due to personal and professional setbacks as he mentioned during the conversation we had I humbly request every one to give them a chance to revive and flourish as another local business in your area. God bless him and his family with health and wealth. I will surely come back a million times if God permits.
Always fresh, diverse selection of grains, spices, snacks, desserts and frozen/refrigerated and halal meats too.
This is a place for all if Indian grocery with great prices..owner is very friendly and helpful. Drop off is also available! Fresh food, vegetable and lots of sweet items available!
Me and my husband use to come here all the time and get meat, groceries, and snacks from their restaurant. We never complained and came back all the time because we found it good and the people good. Over the weekend we got some groceries and snacks for Diwali and got their 3 for $10 sweets to give to family and it total spent almost $50. My family got sick and headache from eating the snacks and we figured the 3 for $10 sweets may be old, so we brought them back. They called us liars and argued with us that they were not bad and how could we bring them back? I want to ask them if they would give their family something that they eat and made them sick without complaining or wanting an explanation? And they had no answer to give to that question. The owner even told us not to even expect good food for $10. So why even sell it in the first place if it’s not good food? They were talking so bad about us in front of us, they do not know customer service at all and should not even have a shop or restaurant if they don’t know how to treat their paying customers. They now lost our business for everything else we use to come in and buy now because they don’t know how to handle customer concerns. And most of all this happened on Diwali sweets. If you wouldn’t give it to your family, don’t sell it, and don’t tell us “this is what you get for your money” it is not an answer.
Best rice...price went up after COVID 19 hits the World. So we all feel the pinch but hey it's life and we still here with the grace of God and the Angels. Don't complain. Be grateful.
It used to be a good quality Indian store with cheap prices but as they made customers their quality went downhill. A lot I mean a lot of their stuff is expired including kids snacks , frozen food, cookies, sauces etc etc. the shop owner n his son both are super rude. And they some how manage to charge extra money on your card I don’t know how they do it so professionally. I go there with my kids n while my attention is not on the transaction while checking out they quietly add more charges. N when I go home n do the math it comes out that they this fraud. Never going there again. Worst Indian store in town
Delicious food. We have been at the restaurant after buying groceries and food was so yummy.we had the best biryani ever.Price is reasonable and quantity was very good. Staff is very well behaved, kind and Nice. I would definitely prefer this Indian restaurant in Philly.
One if the biggest Indian grocery selections in the area. Good service and clean store. Like any import store, check expiration dates for long shelf life items like pickles and jams.
5 star! They have everything you need to make your own indian cuisine. And they have the microwaveable tv dinner types also
One of the best indian grocery store in town. Friendly staff.lot of options.
