This is the Official Public Page of the Danbury Professional Fire Fighters.
We represent 120 professional fire fighters, and our members provide a multitude of services to the citizens of, and visitors to the City of Danbury. In addition to fire suppression, our members also provide fire prevention inspections and code enforcement, fire investigations, technical rescue services, hazardous materials response, first response to emergency medical services calls, motor vehicle accidents, and even land searches.
Local 801 represents all professional members of the Danbury Fire Department, with the exception of the Chief and Deputy Chief. Our goal is to constantly improve the safety, working conditions, and benefits of our members.
The Danbury Professional Fire Fighters was first organized on Oct 9, 1944 as an affiliate of the International Association of Fire Fighters, and was designated Local 801. Local 801 is a charter member of the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut.
In addition to these Public Safety Services, our members are also involved in several community service projects every year. Since 2001, Local 801 has raised $178,078.12 for the Musculature Dystrophy Association. In addition, our members have contributed to the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation and the Arthur C Luf Childrens Burn Camp, and several members have contributed their time and skills to help maintain and administer the camp. Every fall, Local 801 sponsors a canned food drive, and with the assistance of the Salvation Army, distributes the collections to needy families in our community. Local 801 members provide CPR training, and a Baby Sitter class to the members of the community.
