I drive over a hour to get there because I really love this practice - and specifically, Dr. Covell. He is kind and empathetic, practical and pragmatic. He was patient in explaining what he saw in my MRI and going through possible treatment plans with me. I feel 100% confident in his recommendation for surgery and his professional yet gentle demeanor was very comforting pre & post surgery. Also, love being able to check in, fill out forms and pay my co-pay from my phone before I even get there. Great use of technology!
I waited 6 weeks to get into this place because I didn't want to go back to Cincinnati because of the drive but that is definitely where I will be going. I was told that there was no reason for all of the pain in my knee. The x-ray showed that I was structurally fine so everything else should be okay. Why could I not put pressure on my foot? Why does my kneecap pop out of the side? All of these issues were evidently my imagination. I was told there was no way that I had these symptoms with the description I gave. There is a reason that this clinic is in the bowels of an old building. If this is the level of professionalism I would never go back . The condescending tone of the doctor was appalling.
Dr. Covel is the best!! Do not have to wait a long time at my appointment or for him to come into the room. He gave me a shot in my ankle and it was almost painless, made me feel very welcomed and comfortable!! Definitely recommend!
*For Handi-capable patients* TURN into either side of bldg DRIVE down to LOWER BACKSIDE and park AND end there. It is NOT well mark in front. In the BACK the surface IS level AND the entrance is EASY. Ok. For my review, I'm female @ 50 y/o seen for chronic knee injuries due to sports. Check in ONLINE is super EASY and 5 The 'Wait', meh it's a big office so is what it is. I had a fresh set of x-rays, they were very nice. Saw a PA whom had a shadow that was niether introduced or?. Him and I went over everything I've had done. Came down to that my options are limited, I get that. I felt like he had zero time for me, as he said X3 "I can repeat everything again the exact same way....and we see a lot of these". I had to ask to see my x-rays & I get what he's saying...but whilst HE sees a lot of these, I so far I have had only ONE of these so give me a minute to digest this, have a sentence or 2 of empathy. I mean h*ll, 30 years and some bad wrecks as far as sports go, I'm not even 55...Idk if anything act like that matters. Biggest flub imo? He never asked where specifically does my knee hurt. So ya Competency so far, idk could have been an off day ‍ Over all it'd be up to your personal preference.
Absolute waste of time. I waited an hour and three minutes past my appointment time to even see a physician and when I finally did, he was with me for less than five minutes. I was basically told that since an x-ray of my right knee only showed space between my bones, it meant "no decay or wear of my cartilage", and that I shouldn't have pain. Ive had knee problems since I was a kid and have had pain to some degree almost every day. But since I said that there was no swelling, I guess my pain must be imagined. Im not sure why he offered physical therapy if I had no damage. I felt rushed and not heard. Thats not how you treat a patient that's waited to see you for an hour past their scheduled appointment. Waste of time. Thanks for nothing.
Dr. Covell was phenomenal! Professional, competent and empathetic. I brought my daughter to him to try and figure out a way to help relieve her pain that she has had for over two years following a catastrophic injury. He was very through and explained everything well and provided valuable information to us! He stressed the importance of working with us and valuing our input. I am going to be graduating soon with my acute care NP and will DEFINITELY be referring my patients to him! I would strongly recommend him to anyone in need of a foot or ankle specialist.
Excellent staff. Dr. Tarter and Dr. Unger are extremely good, straightforward, approachable and dedicated.
Absolutley wonderful during a horrible time. Borke my right talus a couple years ago and chose Danville Ortho over a couple other places. What a great decision. Wasn't treated like a number but treated with care, compassion and definitely like a person. Dr. Covell and his staff were always very friendly but straight up also. Never gave any sugar coating to my condition just the facts and the road I would have to travel to recovery. I will always recommend to anyone. Thank you Danville Ortho.
Gina is good. They turned me over to a PTA & she was not good. Would not let me do what I thought I could do. Had me write the alphabet on a board. Better ways to increase my range of motion. Will only see you for 1 hour & then I had to leave. I susppose due to Covid. I do not reccomend this place during this time. Again Gina is good. Another PT took my arm & reared it back as far as she could. That injured my arm & set me back. They did not consider that when they dismissed me.
Dr. Covell is wonderful. He is the only reason I have stuck with this place.
