Description

Marc and Maria bought the Darby Field Inn in May of 1979. Since then, they have raised 4 children here, and welcomed guests from around the world to their romantic country inn. More than 30 years later, The Darby Field Inn and Restaurant continues to surprise and delight guests adventurous enough to "wander off the beaten path."

My husband and I stayed for a last minute labor day weekend get away. So glad we picked the Darby field inn. Marc and his staff are so warm and welcoming. Our room was spacious yet cozy. The property is set on a hill with magnificent views of the white mountains. The grounds are very nice with lots of perennial gardens that attract humming birds and butterflys. Breakfast is included with your stay. Be sure to get a table by the window so you can enjoy the view. We will definitely go back!
Had a wonderful stay. Beyond happy with our decision to stay at this beautiful Inn. The location was great, near many trails and attractions. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains from our room and from the dining room. It was incredible to wake up head to the dining area and have a fantastic breakfast with a beautiful view. The staff was very attentive and kind. The room we stayed was the perfect size and very clean room #5. We also had dinner at the inn. I chose duck and my husband chose lamb. Definitely recommend having dinner here. The meal was 5 stars, from the appetizer to the soup,main entrees, and dessert. Overall, we had a memorable time at Darby Field Inn. Recommend staying at this inn 100%. Thank you Marc and staff for everything. We will definitely be back. -Karina & Jose
This by far is the best hidden jewel in the White Mountains. In fact, we selfishly almost don’t want to write this review for fear that this hidden gem gets discovered by the millions of white mountain tourist that travel to the region annually. However, We really like the entire staff as they are so kind and gracious that we feel indebted to them for sharing with us this fantastic Inn experience. While many tourist are waiting to eat dinner in two hour waits up the road, they don’t realize that the best chef and absolute best dining experience in the entire region is at the Darby Inn. Amazing Amazing dining experience! The grounds are beautifully kept and the rooms are exceptionally clean and have an Ora of old New Hampshire which makes for an amazing experience. More of a place for adults, as it is the best romantic getaway place for couples and is hidden off the Kangamangus highway. Mark and his team are great, they make you feel like you are a part of an extended family. John and Sharon
One New Year's Day we had a small, intimate wedding ceremony for my husband and I. Darby Field staff blew us away with their hospitality, and the inn itself has so much charm and was a beautiful backdrop to tie the know. We purchased and elopement package and added our family for dinner and everything was a 10/10. Marc and his staff took care of everything and made my special day perfect. Susan baked us a gorgeous, delicious cake and made sure I had a stunning bouquet. Marc let us customize our package from start to finish, and is a phenomenal chef. Our party of 12 loved every bit of our dinner and breakfast each morning. Marc's daughter Tess was the best hostess and made sure everything from NYE to wedding day was perfect. If you are looking for an intimate wedding where all you have to do is show up, look at the Darby Field Inn. Food is world class, accommodations are cozy and clean, staff are wonderful, kind people and very responsive. Oh and they did wonderful adhering to COVID guidelines and ensuring all guests safety. We absolutely loved our stay at the Darby Field Inn! My husband Daniel and I stayed in the Mount Washington Suite for our honeymoon and we absolutely plan on returning! The setting is beautiful, private, and full of rustic charm. We loved all the personal touches from Mark and his wife Maria and their kind staff, including fresh flowers throughout the dining room, loaning us a bottle opener, and setting up croquet, horseshoes, and corn-hole for us. They even saved us plates of food when we came down too late for breakfast on the last day of our stay. The landscaping is gorgeous and the pool is pristine. We also very much enjoyed our 2-person jacuzzi tub!! Yummy breakfasts too! So glad we chose this for our honeymoon instead of a big, swanky, impersonal hotel. Can't recommend enough if you are looking for a romantic getaway.
Spontaneous trip to the white mountains without a plan to stay anywhere and lucked out finding this beautiful gem of a place that had one amazing room left, the presidential suite with gas fireplace , large whirlpool and comfy bed. Very romantic setting overlooking the mountains. Staff was very friendly and accommodating along with superb dining, and you get a full real breakfast , not a cheap continental style lol. Will come again soon!
My husband and I hosted our wedding here, and it was perfect. We rented out the inn for the weekend so that our families had their own mini vacation with time to hike, sightsee and get to know each other more. The rooms are fun and unique. Some are quite extravagant with hot tubs, electric fireplaces, and balconies. And the food they cook is absolutely divine. Carroll was the staff who took care of us and she went above and beyond in every way. She made recommendations to local places to buy our cake. She made recommendations for flowers and hair. They aren’t an actual wedding venue but they acted with so much care, I would have thought they do it regularly. My husband and I loved our experience so much, we’ve gone back several times. It’s also the perfect romantic getaway spot regardless of the time of year. We can’t speak highly enough of Marc and the Darby Field Inn. We loved our wedding here and always have a memorable time when we visit.
This was our second stay here and we just love it. It’s so quiet and romantic. It’s a beautiful place and is maintained immaculately. The staff is top notch and Marc, the inn keeper is on site often. He is a great, friendly host and a really cool guy. We got the meal package for two of our nights and the food is phenomenal. Our waiter really went above and beyond to make our dinners special. Breakfast is amazing, sooooo good, served by our gracious host. The views are spectacular here and you can really see a lot of nature and wildlife. The wildflowers and gardens seem to attract lots of butterflies and songbirds. Hummingbirds are plentiful here too. And let’s not forget the so cute but so mischievous chipmunks! We saw an owl our last stay and this stay, heard a pack of coyotes nearby. Lastly, I have to mention the pool. It’s a vintage in ground pool that is tucked away amongst gardens, stonewalls and mangrove type trees. I have traveled around the world and this is by far my most favorite place to stay. I plan on coming back often, as much as our schedules will accommodate. Stay here for a quiet, romantic country retreat.
My husband and I had our elopement ceremony here. We stayed for several nights and also had guests stay in rooms as well. The property is absolutely beautiful!! It's tucked away off the Kancamangus highway and has lovely views. They did an amazing job hosting our special day and the food is to die for! We will be returning! It's one of those places that needs to be seen during each season.
We had our wedding at The Darby Field Inn in May 2018. Our 50 guest wedding was hosted beautifully here. The staff was very attentive and it was evident that they strived to make the day as wonderful as possible for us. We were able to change some location options quickly due to rain showers and everything flowed very smoothly. Our room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were absolutely scrumptious, and the grounds were so beautiful. We were happy to see that there were many hummingbirds fluttering around for our day. Our guests loved relaxing in the bar and living room before the ceremony and after the reception ending. The coziness of the inn made me feel like our wedding was so special and unique. We cannot wait to come back and visit the inn soon! Thank you to the entire staff for helping have a perfect wedding day!
