I really liked it here! Delicious, absolutely beautiful pastries and baked goods. Reasonable prices. Some seating indoors and out. Pastries were vegetarian friendly; no vegetarian savory sandwiches even the egg salad had bacon in it. Just something to note. Self-serve, good coffee. Pay at counter. Other reviews showed pics of avocado toast and pancakes--those are old and no longer available. Fast-casual vibe. Street parking.
It’s pretty much the only decent bakery around the Palisades Park area. They have a wide selection of pastries and cakes. My personal recommendation from here is the croquettes which is very heavy and creamy but flavorful and delicious. From the stuff I tried: The Twisted Donut, Croissants, and they have a pack of plain buns on the side which are good. The Milk Morning Bread and Milk Baguette didn’t really have much of a milky flavor, just sugar. It also had this wet-like texture… Baguettes should be nice and crispy and crusty. The egg tarts are tiny little things, can’t justify spending $3-4 for them. The Black Colored Bread tasted weird not to my tastebuds. The 3 Layered Mammoth is horrendously sweet and not even tasty, do not get this unless you want to waste your money. The coffee also sucks. Tried it twice and both times was terrible, didn’t even have a hint of coffee flavor. Service is fine. I do still frequent here when I’m craving a certain type of pastry and because they do release some new baked goods from time to time. The vibes are also nice, it’s a spacious and pretty place.
Awful customer service. We tried to buy a chocolate cake. There were three employees talking together behind the stand. We asked one of them for help, but she told us to wait. Another employee came by and we asked her for the cake. She said we needed to order first. We go to the front and so far, this is all fine, but then she told us the price is $17. We showed her the sign for the cake that said $6. She said it was a mistake. We said we'd pay full price then, but could we get a cup of water? She said she has to charge for the water. We're a little confused and noticing this, the employee called the manager. It turns out to be the first person we had asked for assistance. We explained to the manager what happened who also admitted without apology the $6 was a mistake: It was for a weekend special. This was Tuesday. They know they kept an incorrectly advertised price. We already agreed to paying full. However, she insisted we pay for the cup of water. Other customers are buying coffee and getting their water no charge, but just for us, they demanded we pay extra. It was uncomfortable to patron an establishment that doesn't respect their own prices or signs so we left without buying anything.
I tried a few different bakeries here. The taste is just about average. The drinks are not so good. The snow shot is very sour, but the cheese foam on the top is tasty. A sesame latte is just sesame powder with milk. Be careful that all the foods do not indicate the ingredients. Overall, not very recommended if you drive far to get here. But some of the bread is worth buying for breakfast.
This is the second time we came home with all our pastries FLATTENED OUT and SMUSHED because they packed in all our things into a tiny bag. We get a good amount of things each time with go, and by the time we get home after a 15 min drive, everything looks crushed. It doesn't only look bad but the pastries don't taste the same. Poor/no packaging and not considerate. Feels like we wasted money.
Strange enough, I always find myself back here. The pastries and the bread are mediocre, but I die for their cranberry chicken sandwich + an iced americano combo. It just hits the spot every time, and the ambiance of the store is actually quite nice. Sometimes all a cafe really needs is good service, good coffee, and a great place to sit and chat.
Great bakery full of delicious pastries. Coffee is good as well. Gets crowded and shelves are emptied quickly so go there early if you’d like the best of pastries. My go-to spot for picking up Korean style pastries. Pricing is reasonable and the staff is generally friendly and attentive.
One of my favorite cafes/bakeries to go in NJ. Our usual favorite is earl Grey roll cake. You can get the actual cake but the roll cake is better. The one in this post is the taro roll cake. It wasnvery good, but earl gray is better. I also tried the dalgona black sesame latte, and it was excellent although I think the regular dalgona latte might be better. Staff is usually not friendly, but it's worth going for what you can get.
Earl grey cake was so good!!! And all their pastries were great. Definitely recommend if looking for tasty baked goods.
I recently had the pleasure of working with D'Avant Bakery for my wedding cake and it was a true delight! The strawberry cake was exactly what we had requested and it was incredibly delicious - we received so many compliments on the flavor. We chose D'Avant Bakery after trying out a number of bakeries closer to our venue or ones that offered delivery. However, these options were charging $2000+ for what we wanted a 3-tier cake and sheet cakes and the cakes didn't taste very good. On the other hand, the cakes at D'Avant Bakery tasted amazing, but we had to transport the cake to our venue ourselves which introduced some risk that the cake could not make it. Unsurprisingly, during the hour-long drive to the venue, the cake did end up leaning over a bit. However, despite this mishap, the cake still looked and tasted fantastic. Our guests had a blast making bets on whether the cake would make it, and even if it did fall, it wouldn't have ruined our wedding. We were extremely impressed with the value we received for the price we paid. At $700 for a three-tier cake and two sheet cakes, we didn't expect the cake to look as nice as a $2000+ wedding cake, but we were willing to take the risk to have a delicious cake at our wedding. Overall, I highly recommend D'Avant Bakery to anyone looking for a wedding cake that prioritizes taste over presentation and is willing to accept some risk that their cake could fall over. It was very important to us that our cake tasted good, so we were willing to take the risk and also go through the effort of transporting it ourselves and setting it up.
