Davenport’s Crystal Lake location did an amazing job throughout all aspects of planning and executing services for my husbands Celebration of Life. Jennifer Valentine was thoughtful and provided ample information to assist me in making the many decisions necessary. Whenever I called or e-mailed or stopped in, Jennifer or another funeral director gracefully made themselves available with great kindness and a smile. Facilities provided were very comfortable and clean and were perfectly suited for the visitation and service. I would give them full recommendations all around. The only aspect that could use improvement is on updated recording and viewing equipment. Portions of the zoom viewing were difficult to hear for those attending remotely. Thanks for providing such wonderful services to families during such difficult times.
It takes a special person to work for a funeral home; It is one of the most unacknowledged and overlooked professions, yet one of the most valuable assets in our society. Davenport Funeral Home of Crystal Lake is not only a beautiful facility but the staff is so genuine. They treat you like family and are there every step of the way. Thank you for being so warm hearted, welcoming, and amazing during the funeral of our grandfather in May. A funeral is never the easiest situation to be in, but your staff made it easier for us all.
When our father recently passed away, it was naturally a very difficult time for our family. The Davenport Family Funeral Home in Crystal Lake was outstanding! Kimberley Nordin and Rick DeMichele were very thoughtful and treated my family and me with the utmost care and respect during this most challenging time. I attended a wake for my 33 year old female family member. I don’t know who did her makeup but it was the absolute worst I have EVER seen! She was a GORGEOUS girl as was seen by the photo boards in the room and the person in the casket looked nothing like that. Her whole face was done horrifically! Shame on the cosmetologist. Do better. It’s the last time we see our loved ones. I don't want to argue with this man. This review is for people who choose to use their services. I pray our experience was an isolated incident. There was no trauma done to her face, none. I understand they don't want to take responsibility for the way her makeup was applied, although that is their responsibility, they would risk future patrons. Here are some of the comments made by visitors at the wake: "Who is that?" ~ "If she could see her makeup she would be sooo angry" ~ "I don't know who that is but it isn't Amber" ~ "I've seen motorcycle accident victims look better than that" Those comments were repeated throughout the visitation.
My father passed away this past spring. We chose to use Davenport Funeral Home. The staff was outstanding. Everyone was caring and professional. All of our requests were honored. I highly recommend Davenport Funeral Home.

Davenport made a devastating, life changing experience as seamless as I could have ever imagined. Kim, in Crystal Lake and Rick in Lake Zurich were exceptional to work with.
Davenport performed services for my Grandmother and now my mother. They are the best. They offer everything and anything you could want short of the food after a service. Everything was professional and compassionate. My mother looked better at rest than she had in 5-6 years, she was beautiful and at peace. We inquired about the pastor we used for my grandmother and they looked her up and booked her immediately and on the spot. We provided photos and they made an incredibly moving video montage that brought tears to your eyes. It was a healing experience that you can only hope for when laying a loved one to rest.
Outstanding Experience! Caring & Compassionate staff, did everything online from 1500 miles away, until we could make the drive up from Florida. Everything was handled flawlessly. Can't begin to explain how much that meant to our family. They took outstanding care of Dad & we'll use them when it comes time for Mom.
