David C. Shaw Arboretum

I love this shaded path through different species of trees! When I was young, my dad used to teach me all the plants names here. Great views of the lake, lots of benches and shaded areas for picnics. The path is walkable for children, but might be hard if you are using a stroller. Can't wait to go back once the leaves return :

A beautiful hidden gem at Holmdel Park. This is often a wonderful place to sit quietly. The only thing that would make this place more perfect would be some form of identification of the different types of plants and trees as not all are identified.

Beautiful maintained grounds, peaceful to walk around. Great trip to relax and enjoy nature.

So many delightful memories of my babies running around! Holmdel Park, including the farm and Arboretum, were always our go-to favorite spots to visit; and still are! Picnics, birthday parties, graduation parties, my daughter's baby shower - all at Holmdel Park! We are so blessed in Monmouth County to have THE best park system. For Real!

Amazing park with a great historical working farm including animals. There's an official sledding hill. There are trails that will allow you to walk, run, hike 8 miles or so in a loop. I love the arboretum! There's some interesting flora to admire.

It was a lovely park, yet the arboretum is a bit small, I had imagined a vast palace of trees of several varieties both native and foreign. Regardless of it's size it is a very quaint and peaceful retreat to gaze upon. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for respite from a noisy world.

I just did a post about how much Holdel park turned me off the last time I went their with my family but I will say that the arboretum is mine and my sons favorite part of the park. I have been visiting since my early 20s and it's a lovely escape from the masses that visit the rest of.the park. Its peaceful clean and gated which is a plus

For you other nature lovers: this arboretum is serene. Having lived in DC for years and spending time at the National Arboretum, I can say honestly that the David C. Shaw Arboretum is tasteful and well-filled. There's perfect space for appreciating each being, and then moving onto the next
