My fiancée and I had a wonderful experience at David’s Bridal. Our specialist, Carrie, was INCREDIBLY helpful, friendly, and supportive. She stayed with my fiancée and myself for the whole process, across multiple days, and she made us feel like we were friends as soon as we called and walked in for the first time. I can’t imagine having a smoother, or more pleasant experience at a bridal shop, and I urge all brides and their families to check it out for themselves.
This location has a few employees who unfortunately should not be in the business. Allison O’Connor is mean, calculated, and two-faced. Her and her daughter acted like they were in high school and every experience I had with them was uncomfortable and disappointing, not only for me but my sister and mom as well, who also experienced their behavior. Working with them completely ruined my dress experience for my wedding. I’m able to post now because my wedding has passed and I feel safe giving a review. I held off because I was worried I would receive backlash and have even more issues. Allison made me cry, accused me of lying, accused me of gaining weight and countless other awful things. The manager, Melissa stepped in after I’d called corporate and expressed my disappointment about the awful service and requested a complete refund so I could go elsewhere. Working with Melissa started out great and I thought I’d be in good hands but after the first couple of interactions with her, she made me feel like I was bothering her and a nuisance. I truly felt like she did not believe me or care about the way I was treated which was just as disappointing. What’s sad is there are a lot of poor reviews about this location and specifically, these employees, yet there seemed to be no repercussions. Vermont Wedding Connections on Facebook has nothing but negative reviews of this store and it’s employees and sadly I did not learn this information until after I’d purchased my dress from them. I ended up going to a DB in Massachusetts and that was 100% the right choice because the customer service there was 10x better and I left that store feeling confident, happy, and taken care of the way a bride and customer should feel. I wouldn’t be surprised if they respond to my review and attempt to gaslight my experiences. Please do yourself a favor and either go to a different DB location or go to a different company altogether.
From start to finish, my experience with this store was terrible. At my first appointment to try on wedding dresses, there was an associate trying on the dresses and arguing with other staff in front of us. While the associates who helped me were kind and helpful, this really ruined the experience. I did however find my dress and was told I could make payments over the phone and return to pick up the dress once the payments were made. Two weeks later after having made one payment, I received a phone call in which a very rude associate told me I must pick up the dress by that weekend as it shouldn't have been there that long. This was the first I was told of an actual pick up day, even when I called to make the first payment they didn't mention anything. Irritated but anxious to have my dress in my hands, I made the two hour drive over to finish the payments and pick up my dress. This is where I should have just taken it and left but instead I decided to also do my alterations through them. They pinned the dress that day and set up a day for me to return to pick it up. That date was two weeks out. On that date my sisters and I drove the two hours over to pick up my dress. I was brought back to the changing room and made to wait for five minutes before the manager came back to tell me that someone hadn't written the date down so my dress hadn't even been touched. Again, I should have taken my dress that day, but I didn't. I had already paid for the alterations and wanted to see it through. The manager told me she would rush me to the head of the line and call me when my dress was ready. Weeks went by and I got no call so I called and asked when it might be ready. They told me it had been ready for over a week. I drove over and got it the very next day. Tara, the seamstress and a few other girls from my first appointment were the only redeeming qualities at this store. I will never be returning and I will be steering all of my bridal friends away from this store. My experience here made finding my wedding dress stressful and frustrating from start to finish; very disappointing.
The first appointment I booked ahead and was greeted by a store worker that was busy with someone else but told us to pick out some dresses I was interested in. She gave no instruction on where to place the ones I was interested in. So I started picking some out and placing them on a separate rack. Another store worker Carrie came up after and very rudely told us that we were suppose to be flipping the dresses from the rack they were in, and now she has to put the ones I pulled all back. I told her no one gave me instructions and just said pick some out and walked away. She stated I had way too many picked out I am only allowed 8 per appt and I wouldn’t have time for more even though the store was empty. She also said that they were busy with someone else. Okay cool I’m sorry but you could have kindly said to wait we are busy or give me some kind of instruction. Her overall attitude was annoyed and it took away from the excitement of trying on wedding dresses. Another issue is No one helps you in the dressing rooms until you come out in front of everyone to get zipped and there also was nothing to stand on to see how the dress fell. So I did pick out my dress and we decide to order it a little bigger since I am pregnant. Today I drove over 2 hours for alterations and turns out they ordered the wrong size so now I have to wait for another dress to come in my size and drive over again 2 hours for alterations and back again when they are done. Overall unimpressed with the service I received and who knows if alterations with having to reorder my dress with come in time for my wedding.
I rang the bell!! Today I found my perfect dress and said yes! My experience was magical. My stylist was Moira who is the best! She created a welcoming space for creativity and elegance while helping me find my dress. My experience was more than I imagined and I can’t wait to walk down the aisle feeling like a princess.
Fun experience helping 4 young ladies pick out bridesmaids dresses. Moira was a real pleasure to work with. My only suggestion would be to limit or schedule appointment times a bit better. We booked online, selecting from the availability the store listed. The changing room area was super crowded because there were two bridal fittings happening at the same time. There weren’t enough chairs or even enough room to stand where we could see our girls and still be out of the way of the brides.
Wonderful experience prom shopping today! Carrie and Taylor at the Williston, VT location were spectacular! Patient, knowledgeable and super friendly. Highly recommend coming here. This was the best decision for prom season!
I would give them a 0 if that was an option. My daughter dress was in alterations for 6 weeks and the night before her appointment for pick up she got a call that they needed to reschedule. Turns out they had not even started the dress with 3 weeks to the wedding. We picked it up and brought it to someone else and they gave us a hard time about refunding the $ we paid for alterations thinking nothing about the hours and weeks we were out waiting for them to do the work!
I took my 8-year-old daughter in for her alterations appointment today for her junior bridesmaid's dress. We were greeted pleasantly and taken right back to get started. Our alterations person was so fun to work with. We are looking forward to seeing the gown when it is all finished next month. The price was great, too!
The stylist did not know what she was doing. Told us dresses were available in a color and then at checkout one was not. Dress organization in the shop does not make sense, it is extremely difficult to come up with options. The stylist did not give suggestions and waited until my bridesmaids had picked dresses to tell me none of them came in the color I told her I selected at the beginning of the appointment. I ended up changing my color picked just to make it work but the stylist never made suggestions on which styles to even try that came in my originally selected color. It was also overbooked and we could barely move around by the changing area as well as where the dress racks were. Made the entire process that much more difficult.
