The following is the introductory sheet that will be included with each machine.
The first part of January of 2005, I was on contract in central Wyoming. My wife wanted to go to Casper, a 2 hour drive, and shop at the mall. No problem.
We were in a large department chain store that has a huge tool department. I made my way down there with the idea of looking at table saws for my retirement business. Every saw I looked at, they had a bunch, was made in China! Now, I would expect the cheapie, $110 table top model to be made there, but, the biggest saw they had?!
By the time we got back to the motel I was FUMING! "THERE'S GOTTA BE A WAY TO MAKE A TABLE SAW IN THE U.S.A., AT A REASONABLE PROFIT!" Key word, reasonable.
As a mechanical designer, I started looking into the design. Boy, real rocket science, this is. Something to make the blade go up and down. Something to make the blade tilt. Something to make the blade go around. Of course, easier said than done, however, just basic machine design.
My initial research showed me how many saws are sold in the U.S. More than I could imagine! So, off I went, designing a table saw. With the help of some great people, we got the first prototype running and two beta versions out into the field for testing.
The result is our company, Davies Woodworking Machines, and the machine you are about to put to use. It was made, primarily, right here in Watford City, ND. Some of the components, motor, switch, etc. were made in other states, but still in the U.S.A.
We are sure you will enjoy many years of service from your new tool.
