We really enjoyed our one night stop over stay off I40. We picked the campground because of the short distance and easy access off the interstate. Our site was nice, wide, gravel area but close to our neighbors. Most campers we long term or permanent campers. The site next to us was a permanent camper who had visitors outdoors. Their loud conversations could be easily heard inside our camper. The amenities are very nice but I would not want to camp her more than 1 or 2 nights because of our experience with the neighbors. For a long term or permanent site, it is perfect! There are nice cabins, pond, pool area, hot tub, tennis courts & more on site. It would be a great place to park your camper for the season.
BEST CAMPGROUND EVER!! I'll explain the 4 star rating in a minute but first... The bathrooms are the best bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground, and these showers. Oh. My. Goodness! Yes please! I truly appreciated I could go into a bathroom have a full sink, toilet, and full shower completely to myself, and be able to lock the door. It was wonderful. The bathroom and laundry areas are also so well kept. Great job here campground crew! Keep it up! The campsites for tent campers are also the largest and most spacious I've seen. That also was wonderful. We had two tents, but I'm sure you could put three maybe even four tents if allowed because they are truly that large! At least V-4 is! This campground also has a hot tub and heated pool. Woot woot. So relaxing and a nice touch. You don't get that at other campgrounds. Also, there's a beautiful fishing spot with swings and benches. Very nice. Last, the other guests were so kind. One gentleman had a pet monkey and she is truly the best! Oh I loved her. So why I gave it a 4 and not a 5. The hot tub doesn't get very hot. It felt more like what a heated pool would feel like it. To me, anyway. Also, I wonder if there is a small leak. The water level kept getting lower and lower. If that could be looked into and corrected, it'd be great. Highly recommend keeping the hot tub instead of getting rid of it. Also, it's advertised the pool is heated and it didn't feel heated. Again, please keep these amenities as they are a great addition to the campground and make it unique.. but it'd also be nice if they were closer to what they say they are.
The most FAVORITE part of this trip was meeting Cliff and his monkey Molly . Cliff gave you his undivided attention when asking the millions of questions we all had about Molly. Molly was so friendly and such a sweet girl! I hope to see her again next time.Hotel highlightsQuiet
Best campground I have ever been to. The sites are on soft ground with gravel for parking. We had our own light, electric, water, grill and firepit. We tent camped and loved the fact that the tents were separated from the RVs. That’s so rare nowadays and I don’t love camping next to RVs. So I love the fact that their sites are so separated! Their staff removed our trash daily which was amazing. Bathrooms were kept very clean. This place could be even more amazing if the facilities had just a liiiiiittle work. The hot tub water levels were low and a couple of times it was only lukewarm. The restaurant def should open back up and there should be somewhere to get coffee. The pool area is great for families. Wish the pool was actually heated as advertised because it was a little too icy lol And lastly pleeeease open up your snack shack/bar at the pool again. The pond is also gorgeous. The seating nearby was very nice and it was very peaceful to sit near the water. If those few things happened with the pool/restaurants/hot tub there’s no way we wouldn’t go several times each year! Also there’s a resident that has the sweetest monkey in the world which added to our trip I have a Zoology degree and loved seeing a capuchin so well socialized!
It was an absolute pleasure to camp there! The rooms are amazing! The bathrooms were great! They have grills on the camp sights along with burn pits! They have nice trails! A convenient store! All around a 10/10 experience I highly recommend! Playground: They have an amazing play ground for kids! A basketball court and a volleyball court. Along with a sea salt pool and a hot tub room Restrooms: The restroom were clean and stocked! They even have showers!
My family loved this campsite very kid friendly very relaxed especially loved Molly the monkey that was really neat. Would definitely love to visit againRooms: 5/5
Pretty disappointing. After looking at the reviews I was very excited to visit but I later realized that most of the reviews are mistakenly posted here rather than the TN State Park run by the state rather than this privately owned campground. Both parks/campgrounds have a similar name a similar name and it is an easy mistake. The park has mostly long term residents rather than short term visitors. It felt more like I was walking thru personal yards versus a typical campground. The advertised restaurant was closed and had been since 2020 along with the hot tub. The pool was covered because it was early Spring but there was also quite a bit of junk around the pool deck to suggest it has not been in use for a while. The office was not staffed the entire length of our two night stay. Lastly, the small lake/pond area seemed to have a sewage smell that made you want to spend most of the time inside your camper. We stayed in March but I image it would be much stronger in warmer weather. The campground has potential but it appears but have become complacent with the regular residents and does not work to put on a welcoming vibe for newcomers. Overall I don’t expect to return any time soon.
Quaint campground with lots of shade trees love that. Campsites are rather close together, but everyone was quiet during our 7 day stay in our RV. Narrow roads, but our 42’ coach slipped through with only a few brushes with leaves. The cabins look nice but didn’t go in any. The restaurant didn’t look like it had been open in a while, and the hot tub was closed due to a leak. We were on a nice pull through site, and all utilities were in great shape. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Only reason for four stars is this just isn’t a five star resort, but super nice for a small campground.
This is the best campground without a membership my family has gone too. It is independantly ran and the staff are amazing. We extended our stay because we fell in love with the people here as well as the clean grounds. Lots to see around here from fireflies to butterflies to history and small town glory. This is going to become a regular stay when we come to Tennessee. Feels like home!!! I would choose this campground over the Davey Crockett state park and campground any day.
Beautiful woods! Helpful neighbors! Thanks to G & P for helping us get our camper into a tight spot and to P for fixing a plumbing problem. We are seasonal here now, and very happy with our decision!
