This is a beautiful spot to hike there's plenty of hiking trails throughout this park they do have a little Beach area but the water has a lot of lily pads and is very mucky. They do have a pavilion here and also porta potties this is a great place to have a picnic cookout or get together with family this is my first time here and I already like it I'm going to come back to check out different trails along the way my dog also loves it here I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you have not already.
Nice park to hike with a view of waterfall. It took our group with children about 2 hours to finish the loop back to the parking lot. I wish there are more trail marking and the falling tree is cleared more timely. I used Strava with global heat map turned on to assist with navigation.
Wow that waterfall! Is soooooooo amazing! A must see for sure! There was a couple super extra muddy spots so beware obviously could’ve been the weather. Some hills up some hills down rocks everywhere and little narrow near bushes. I can’t even tell you which way we went we did the loop down the straight path but then did a little side path to get to waterfall from where we were. There’s great parking signs to get there are easy. It looks like you can even swim there on nice days and they have sand. Fishing looks like it’s great there because there was a lot of people.
Family & friends on a perfect day. The kids caught fish and played at the beach area. Really nice place. Picnic area: Has a grill at some of the picnic tables.
Just starting to explore this State Park. I have to say so far, that it is absolutely beautiful. I even saw a little waterfall. Dog-friendliness: I saw people walking their pups. The dogs seem very happy and content, there is so much hiking for them, it's a dog haven. ‍ Picnic area: Look like different spots throughout the park have tables and BBQ Grills.
I took my grandsons to Day pond for a swim. It's very peaceful and beautiful there. They enjoyed playing in the roped off swimming section. I like that there is a soft, sandy beach for them to play on. There is plenty of parking and picnic tables for everyone. I took a short stroll on one of the many hiking trails. It's a nice family friendly spot.
Nice and quiet. Places to walk and have a picnic. They have a tiny swim area, but I do think it is closed due to bacteria . Have to double check the states website for more info. Restrooms: They have bathrooms, but they are not always open. Plus a porty-potty.... But when you got to go.... Picnic area: Has a palvillion that can be reserved for party's or large gatherings. They do have a few picnic tables around as well.
A great spot to hike. The Salmon River trail is about a three mile loop. It features rolling, wooded hills, several stream crossings, plenty of ups and downs and many wet spots. There's a side trail about halfway through the hike which brings you down to a nice looking falls, by way of a Boy Scout Eagle project-created trail. There are good views from the top of the falls. The hike overall is moderately stressful and can be done in about an hour.
Fair amount of trails, just without any overlooks. Good place for some neutral terrain mountain biking. Large pond for fishing and some space to sit out and picnic. No shortage of mushrooms around either. Gets pretty muddy in the wet season, so bring some decent if you're hiking. Also there is a smaller parking lot open during the off season at the end of the road past the pain entrance.
Beautiful park. Lots of picnic tables, clean bathrooms, fishing, swimming, hiking, more. Word of caution - be careful on trails. Some are marked, others are not. It is pretty easy to get lost or turned around.
