The DC Lawyers’ Golf Classic benefits Critical Care Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center. For more information please contact Tammy Glasser.
The tournament began in 2002 and since that time has become one of the signature annual events for the Washington legal community. Over the years, the number of golfers, sponsorships, and volunteers involved has steadily grown.
The Washington legal community continues to raise funds for the endowment, which will ensure that Children’s National continues its mission of providing the best care to all children, regardless of ability to pay.
Funding is well underway with substantial leadership pledges from Sidley Austin, Morrison & Foerster, LLP, Perkins Coie LLP, Hollingsworth LLP, Klores Perry Mitchell PC, and the Dorsey & Whitney Foundation.
Special thanks to Worthington Manor Golf Club for hosting the Golf Classic for the past ten years. The course, 35 miles from the Beltway, is one of Maryland’s finest golf facilities and proud host of the 1999, 2000, 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2011 U.S. Open Qualifiers and the 2001, 2002 and 2008 U.S. Open Amateur Qualifiers.

The original passion of the founding sponsors of the DC Lawyers' Golf Classic is summed up in the words of Carter Phillips, Esq. when he said in a letter on behalf of his firm, dated June 22, 2001:
Sidley Austin Brown & Wood are proud to be part of the Washington legal community’s initiative to help improve the health and well-being of children by providing philanthropic support to Children’s National Medical Center. Washington Lawyer’s Care for Children Endowment Fund for Critical Care Medicine will ensure that all children have access to the best possible pediatric services regardless of their families’ ability to pay.
