In 1991, with the purpose of helping the needy of our community, nine churches in the De Pere area each contributed $100 to the startup of De Pere Christian Outreach. Through donations and sales we have since become self-sustaining.
Volunteers staff the daily needs of our organization. In turn, profits from store sales are cycled back into help for local individuals in need and various charitable organizations.
Our original store was located in the old Ford Bakery and then moved into the St. Francis parsonage house. In 2008, our current Butler Street location was purchased. This new building offered not only an all one level sales floor but twice the room. Ever growing, in 2015 the expansion of our current building saw its completion.
We try our best to see that all donated items fill a need with as little waste as possible. Items may also be shared with various shelters, outreach projects, schools, animal shelters, African relief, and the list goes on.
Located near St. Anne's Episcopal Church, another branch of our outreach program is the De Pere Christian Outreach Food Pantry.
Many thanks for all of our donations, to our sponsors, shoppers and volunteers. Without each of you, our mission of outreach would not be possible. As we have been blessed, we strive to be a blessing to others.
