Hi. I’m Deb Lyman, a psychotherapist in Oakland, who helps individuals and couples find more satisfaction in their relationships and in their lives. People call me when they are at a turning point or a breaking point—when they are ready to get to the root of things so they can live the fullest life possible.
I specialize in working with people who may have a lot of success in their lives, but internally are easily overwhelmed by self-doubt. Perhaps this shows up as ambivalence about an intimate relationship, or a general sense of disconnection from oneself and what one truly wants and needs. Other specialities include addressing the impact of growing up with an alcoholic, narcissistic, or mentally ill family member, coming out issues, and working with the queer community.
