City leaders need to do a better job of communicating with residents to share local information after Hurricane Ian struck over 24 hours ago. Residents are without power for 18 hours now, and only receiving generic information from Duke Energy. Yes, priorities must be set, but patience grows thin more quickly with NO useful information.
As a permit tech for a busy roofing contractor, I run permits with Debary pretty often. The techs here are awesome. If you are consistent in giving them what they need to do their job, they won't give you any problems. I do wish Debary could provide the option for online or email permitting, but thankfully I live close and it's not a burden for me to swing by and do my weekly drop off and pick up. Luly and Flossie recently helped me with a big problem due to a misunderstanding with property appraiser, and they got it resolved in no time. Thanks ladies!!
I got told by the permit tech to "get the h311 of out here" when dropping off a permit. The building official didn't even respond to call or email about the incident.
Courteous and attentive staff. Just note internet and cell service is terrible inside the building.
