OUR STORY

Debutantes may be an unusual name for a school of cosmetology, esthetics and nail technology, but it has meaning for us. We are a family business – Tom (father), Jaime, Sarah and Becky (daughters). Missing in this family is a wife and mother. Deb is her name and the name we wanted to make sure was a very real part of our business. Debutantes was our choice of a name to honor her.

In December of 2006 at the way too young age of 51, Deb lost her life to cancer. She had become a wife at age 20, a mother at age 21 and invested her life in those she loved. For 31 years we were fortunate to be the ones she loved most. We loved her back as best we knew how.

She left a legacy of building into the lives of others for her husband and daughters to follow. So in the fall of 2008 when we opened our doors, it made sense that Debutantes would be the name above those doors. We knew, however, that a name was only an honor when the name stood for something honorable. We knew we needed to create a school that would live up to the name.

We may not always succeed (she didn’t either), but we are working hard to build into the lives of our students so that they have opportunities to use their gifts and be successful in the process. When Deb was a very young mom, living in Vermont and looking for a way to help her family’s finances, she used her God-given artistic abilities, coupled it with her desire to create, and taught herself how to make dough ornaments. She then launched her own successful business “Rollin in Dough”. She worked incredibly hard but she was never more alive than when she used her talents and abilities to provide something of value for others.

The school that now carries her name lives so that others can apply their own gifts, work hard, serve others, and experience the joy of being successful doing what they were created to do. We are committed to that mission and look forward to working together to help others achieve their dreams.

The “smiley face” in our logo, is hers too. She wrote it almost every time she signed her name. She also wrote it on our hearts.

I couldn't be more pleased with this school and my decision to attend the cosmetology course! They have always been so professional and welcoming and compassionate! I was a client for many years prior to becoming a student and from being a client to a student to a graduate from Debutantes I can say they have NEVER let me down! Not once! The staff I couldn't speak more highly of! THE BEST! They are amazing humans! They have been there for me way more than I'm sure they even realize! They are more than just a school to me!
I normally don’t do reviews good or bad, but wanted to give a shout out to Deisy for the amazing treatment she gave me. Very professional, made sure I was comfortable. Explained everything she was doing with detail & answered all my questions. This was my first time getting a facial & eyebrows done professionally. I’ve gotten SO MANY compliments already on my skin! Makes me happy & want to take better care of my skin. Thanks Deisy!
I've been to Debutantes many times to get my hair done, and I didn't realize that I never left a review until today! I have never had a disappointing experience at Debutantes. I love getting wild, vivid hair colors and they are always super accommodating and really fun to work with. I've had pink, purple, and most recently, a combination of blue and teal. I've also had regular colors, and blonde. The students I've had were all fantastic. I've had several cuts and colors. The teacher always checks the students work to make sure everything is exactly how it should be. I recommend debutants to everyone, the prices are super fair and really competitive compared to what you would pay in an actual salon. Just plan to spend a little extra time there since it is a student who is taking care of your services, but other than that, it's just like going to a salon. I took this photo right when I left after my most recent appointment. My color turned out incredible! It's been about 2 weeks and it still looks beautiful and bright.
I have to say coming here was an overall pleasant experience. Today was my first time getting a microdermabrasion done by my buddy Kaileigh, that I must say did an amazing job with everything!! The time spent here was enjoyable and relaxing, won't be the last time I come back for another one...thank you!
Heather was beyond phenomenal! I showed her my inspiration photos and she instantly became excited. Her energy and charisma made the experience even better! She was so kind and made sure to check in with me during multiple parts of the haircut. I would go back to her again in a heartbeat and I can't wait until she's out cutting hair on her own! I ended up getting 16" of hair cut off and transitioned to a pixie cut and I am in love with how good it looks! She did an amazing job cutting it, making it look natural and giving it that flair at the end with the styling. If you know you want a cute pixie cut, I cannot recommend this place enough!
Today I got a back facial from Deisy and it was beyond perfect. I highly recommend coming here for services!! You will not be disappointed. The teacher was paying attention to detail and I appreciate that. :
This place was a well oiled machine! I loved the positivity from the receptionist and how welcomed I felt as soon as I walked in. To make it even better I had an amazing stylist! I 110% recommend asking for Amanda Barone. That girl has serious talent, patience, and truly listens to what you want. She expresses her creativity and manages to make her vision yours. I have never felt more confident with my hair and she was so genuine the entire time. She answered all of my questions and always explained every step! Thank you for the best experience!
