Decorah City Campground

What a wonderful campground! each spot is spacious, with plenty of hookups and picnic tables at each site. Lots of space for campers or tents. Has lots of potable and drinking water spouts. Excellent service, has WiFi, extra tables, bikes for rent, bags/Cornhole to borrow, a little free library, other little games. Nice sized playground that is kept up well, with swings and slides. Clean bathrooms always with hand soap and toilet tissue, and clean showers. Beautiful creek that is ice ice cold and so so fun! Shallow all throughout the campground, lots of littles playing in it and people chilling with their camp chairs in the water. Small town with plenty of essentials nearby. Close to a couple different very scenic hikes/trails. I can see why my husband's family have been coming here for decades!!

Tent sites are a bit cramped, with varied amounts of shade per site. The electric hook-up was shared between tent sites, so an extension cord was necessary to reach our site. You won't find much privacy here. The fire ring was in good shape and we found the grounds to be well maintained/level for our tent. Overall, we were happy with tent site #23 and would camp here again if visiting Decorah. The campgrounds were great and loaded with amenities. The shower house was clean and there was plenty of water pressure. We really appreciated the proximity to Trout Run Trail, Twin Springs Park, and downtown/main street Decorah.

Great Campground, has many trails to walk,hike or bike. Walking distance to Luther College and the Upper Iowa River. Trout fishing right in the campground, the staff that runs the campground were very helpful and friendly.

Very nice camp sites. Friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommended. Noteworthy details: On the banks of the Upper Iowa River. Close to town for entertainment, shopping & food.

Beautiful Campground. Amazingly great bathrooms and showers and so clean! Lovely Trout Stream running through the campground. GREAT STAFF. A nice place to take evening walks when you're camping. Stop and enjoy the gentle sounds of the stream with the comfortable benches provided...SO NICE. Interesting things nearby to visit. A must place to visit.

Very nice, well maintained campground. The staff are friendly and helpful and the bathrooms/showers are ideal. Tent camping sites next to the river are in a lovely spot.

Best campground in Iowa! Facilities are very clean and staff is so accommodating!

A very nice location for camping in Decorah, Iowa, with easy access to the Trout Run Trail, local breweries, ice cream shops and restaurants, local shopping, and river fun. There's a stream that runs through the campground for a peaceful nature feel. The campground is relatively basic, but has good upkeep. Bonus: they recently installed a large solar power system to supply the campground. Nearby activities: You can tube or kayak on the upper Iowa river yards away. The terrific Trout Run Trail a paved bike path passes through the campground and loops around Decorah and through prairies and parks. Pulpit Rock Brewery is a short drive or moderate bike ride away. A bit further and you enter downtown Decorah with ice cream parlors, restaurants, and local shopping. Noteworthy details: The campground recently installed a large solar power system. Wi-Fi available.
