Great little two terminal maybe 10 gate airport. But my God, it easily takes 1 hour after you land for your bags to be on the carousel. Imagine you land on one of those 11:45pm flights and have to wait until almost 1am for your bag!! Might as well just leave it and come claim it the next morning! Otherwise it's a sweet little airport.
It's a smaller airport so it is very easy to get around. Parking is convenient. There are 2 long term parking lots. Economy A is right behind the daily parking and is walkable to the terminal. Economy B is a little further and has a shuttle. They do not want you walking for safety reasons. If you want to walk less use economy B with the shuttle. TSA was a little slow with only 2 lanes open.
Friendly people at American Airlines check-in. Airport and restrooms were clean. There were a few decent food items.
My first time visiting this airport and I must say that Charleston International Airport is a very nice airport. The airport is clean and the temperature is just right.
This is a very good airport. My only complaint is that it is a long, non-air conditioned walk to the rental car pickup location.
We love the Charleston Airport! It is definitely a smaller airport, but it is super easy to navigate and find your way around!
Nice airport but holy cow you need to address your luggage handling. I fly in and out of CHS often and for the past year, getting bags has been a nightmare. It's not uncommon to wait 30-45 minutes and several times it has taken nearly an hour. This is unacceptable for an airport of this size. I'll change the review if I ever get my bags in less than 15 minutes. Update Sept. 2023: my last few flights have seen better results. Still slow for the size of the Airport but at least I'm not dozing off waiting for my bags now.
Clean and fast. Moved right on through. Easy pull up. Information on retrieving bags very good. Desk folks are great.
Simple layout, easy to visit and has PreCheck for TSA. They are in the process of putting in a Chick-fil-A so that should excite a lot of people, but plenty of shopping and food otherwise. Replacement of the rental cars is a hike from the airport from a walk perspective, that could have been better designed or provided a shuttle.
Modern and clean, small and easy to navigate. I love flying in and out of this airport.
