I was brought in by ambulance after a fall. Your staff was very professional and kindness helped me to relax quickly. The doctor made sure that I had a copy of my scan to show my Oncologist. We were impressed.
The medical staff at this hospital is extremely poor. My husband who is the advanced stages of dementia with Lewy bodies was recently brought into the hospital because he was in atrial fibrillation. However, the attending nurse said his heart rhythm was fine, but he had pneumonia. The assigned physician never bothered to come into the room to do a personal evaluation of my husband., but attests that he was overseeing the care. Did my husband receive this kind of treatment because he is elderly and dying? I will never know. When I took my husband, who is a disabled veteran, to the VA their tests showed no sign of pneumonia. To some it up, Delnor offers very poor care.
Was there back in April, treated for pressure wounds. Drs and nursing staff were great. Took the time to listen to me and my concerns. One nurse in particular, Meghan R., worked the night shift was probably the best nurse I've ever had. She was always prepared and had a great demeanor as did the CNAs that worked along side her, Stephanie and Esteban. Thank you Meghan, Stephanie and Esteban!
I was lucky enough to get Sarah on the phone when I called to schedule an appointment. She was more than accommodating when booking it. I was having a really hard time finding a place that would take my insurance and I finally found Delnor. She squeezed me in to an appointment for the following weekend. I actually ended up showing up an hour early and they got me and my daughter in right away. Vicki administered the vaccines and was very helpful and pleasant to be around. Both of these ladies were wonderful and I would highly recommend this clinic.
The absolute worst wait times of any hospital I have ever been at. I've visited at least four times and every time I've been in the waiting room for three to four hours and the same amount of time when I get into a room. I've been there with my kids and with my wife and it's always the same. I've never had a visit that was under 6hrs. The waiting is incredibly tiring and stressful. With the rates that I have been billed there shouldn't be an issue increasing staff. I will only choose this ER if absolutely necessary.
This hospitals ER has a ridiculously long wait time. I have been here for 4 hours now and there are 6 people ahead of me. When I checked in they told me I have a 2 hour wait. I don't normally review places with 1 star but this is ridiculous and had to share this. The guy next to me in the packed waiting room of people clearly in pain and getting sicker as they wait, was here for 7 hours now. Let me just advise what I came in for. I had very low BP and glucose levels. They took my vitals and advised it would be 2 hrs. I went to the window on multiple occasions, once to get a puke bag. So I'm sitting here in the waiting room puking. I am a high risk patients, I have heart issues and a history of heart attacks. NOT EVEN HIGH RISK PATIENTS GET IN QUICKER. I went to the window again and asked how much longer, she said they have no idea. This ER needs a complete revamp and a much needed extension of the ER. Another infuriating moment was when the woman at the desk actually roller her eyes at me when I asked her how much time is left for me. This hospital needs better training for the staff and how to be friendly to the patients that PAY for the visit, health wise and monetarily. I find the ER waiting experience ridiculously terrible. I will be reporting this to Tom Wright the hospital President.
I think it’s ridiculous that Northwestern Medicine is not doing more to fight the Advocate health non compete clause that is displacing the physicians and specialists who’ve called Delnor hospital their home. Many of the specialists, especially OB-GYN, have been practitioners at this hospital for several decades. Because of the stupid non compete clause there are thousands of women and expecting mothers who are scrambling around to find a new OB-GYN. Non compete clauses do not protect hospitals/their business. It only disenfranchises the patients. I will be leaving Delnor hospital in the meantime as my doctor will not be there. There are doctors that have fought non compete clauses and have won. I hope northwestern medicine legal can support their “recently acquired” doctors who want to serve their community.
Throwing pain pills at me not getting to the problem. Never came in and checked after the meds, told the nurse nothing was any better. In my release summary "Patient said he was feeling better after medications" No I actually said I don't want pain meds I want to find the problem.
My husband recently had a procedure done here. When we arrived , the receptionist was not very friendly she had a moody tone of voice . When I asked if I can go inside with my husband. She responded .“Well I don’t know” It is really up to you . This is when I stood up walked to my other seat and said out loud Very friendly. If this is how we are treated with private insurance I don’t even want to imagine how other people are treaded .
What are we paying for? Training ? Like guinea pigs? The ER room is a joke because they are understaffed and rude. Especially the head wait staff the way they choose and decide severities. Young and don't care! A sleeping guard on a Saturday night? Told my wife if something happens to me take me all the way to Sherman Hospital
