The goal of Dentists Who Care is to improve and enhance the quality of life for low-income children in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
Dentists Who Care is a private non-profit charitable organization. The goal of Dentists Who Care is to improve and enhance the quality of life for low-income children in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas through access to oral health care. To accomplish this goal, the organization directs the volunteer efforts of over 140 Rio Grande Valley Dentists who pledge their time and energy to Dentists Who Care programs. Dentists Who Care was established as a non-profit organization on November 15, 1996 and is recognized as having a 501 (c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service.
To date, the organization has provided over 2 million dollars in charitable care to over 20,000 children. DWC has been recognized by locally elected leaders, municipalities, and county commissioners as well as by former Governor George Bush. Recognition from their professional ranks has also been received including citations from the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the ADA Health Foundation.
The organization’s mission is to improve and enhance the quality of life for low-income children through access to oral health care.
