The North Branch Library is lovely, comfortable, well stocked, and excellently staffed. This library offers a terrific teen area that includes a great deal of very attractive contemporary teen lit. The children’s section includes a physical play area with ample room to move freely. The reference area is the designated quiet area. The adult area offers an excellent selection of books and media; what they don’t have within the walls of this library, they can quite often secure from one of the other well-stocked city libraries. The ever-full “Hold” shelf serves as ample evidence of the residents’ appreciation of this service. Overall, the North Branch offers a highly valued set of services to everyone in our community and we are grateful for it.
As soon as I walked into this library at 8:40 pm on 07/18/23 I was disrespected by a tall middle aged man wearing a red plaid shirt. He started shaking his head in disbelief that I was walking in. Mind you they close at 9pm. He then in a nasty tone said, “well hello there”. His whole demeanor was extremely unwelcoming & made me very uncomfortable. I just got done working a 11hr shift and simply needed to print something that would take me 5-10 mins. I was here once before a few months prior to print something at 8:30pm and was treating very poorly as well. It’s possible that whoever is running this place knows how disrespectful their staff are and are okay with it. Perhaps, they don’t. I felt it needed to be mentioned here. I will make sure to get his name the next time I’m there so I can make an official complaint with the city.
The workers aren't very helpful. They dont walk around to see if anyone needs help and if you do need help they direct you to do it yourself. Everything is self serve so they dont even interact with anyone. I honestly prefer self serve options for check out but at least greet people, smile, ask if they need help when they walk in and leave. The ladies behind the desk dont even look your way.
A wondeful place to sit down and read or just pick up some books. Staff are always so friendly and everyone does their best to be quiet in the library. Lots of different resources available here and their website is easy to navigate. The library is my favorite place to be!
The library has a great selection of both audio and physical books. Plus it's an excellent place to spend a few hours reading.
This particular library is such a wealth of resources, materials and tools. I could not have been more impressed, when we were new to the area, finding all the things this library has to offer. Libraries are such a gift to the community and this one is especially rich! The separate room for young adults is so very neat. I loved seeing it utilized by the middle school students after school. I do wish the staff we encountered were a bit more friendly, but that's been my only criticism.
Incredibly loud! It's like a playground for kids. I was most surprised that the employees were the loudest! The employees talk really loud to each other and on the phone, like dang even the employees? Unfortunate because I live right next to this library. I'm going to have to give the south branch a chance because there is no way I can study in such a loud place. Look elsewhere if your looking to study y'all, just another example of how our government has failed us. Can't believe our taxes go to supporting a place like this, a library that I can't even use
I have been visiting the Denton Public Libraries since I was a child. The North Brach is a great place for young people. The librarians enjoy community outreach and havevso many resources to help the public learn and grow As with any library it isnt smart to let the children run unsupervised and sometimes that happens, but the staff is pretty good about getting things under control. Before yoy go, find out when the Forge room is open, it i so cool.
Great library selection!! Hopefully, they dont pull queer books down!!
This place is ok but there's Always problems with the Staff.
