We have been numerous times but this year was the best. It seemed like there were more lights than past years. It is so much fun and so enjoyable to walk at night and see all the lights. They have the train running and it was full when it went by us. You can go into the elephant building as well as the giraffe bulding. We love walking through the tropical area to see the fish and other animals. We were so glad they had tickets available. My only negative is that the hot cocoa is more luke warm than hot.
Went to visit with young kids. It was a pretty good experience especially because of the weather being so mild. The young ones loved the lights and also the fact that the animal exhibits were open as well. It was easy to find parking as well. The quality of the lights is not “world class” it is good but not out of the world though. PS: if you like reptiles it has the best snake collection I have seen recently.
Beautiful winter light display! Great family friendly activity to do around the holidays. They offer food and warm beverages that you can enjoy while you view the lights and animals.
This experience is neat if you never seen something like this before. If you have it's not worth it. 3 adults and 2 kids was $105 dollars which is complete insanity, especially because it's too dark to see any animals except 1 elephant , 3 giraffes, and the reptile exhibit. Parking was easy. You can buy spiked hot chocolate and spiked hot apple cider, that might be the most exciting part.
My B-day is X-mas Eve and my One request Every year is to go with the Fam to see the Zoo Lights at least once! The awesome thing is that Every single person enjoys it for different reasons so it's become a family tradition. Everyone gets Awestruck & honestly becomes silly with giddiness. My sister is a Vet Tech who LVES animals so she was like a Big Kid this year! Because we love it so much we've started to invite more people each year. I'm inviting YOU to come next year!! Hopefully the pics give you a little tour. Due to Covid they had one way directions with plenty of space to stay far from others but you could still yell out Happy Holidays to eachother. This year has been rough for everyone and a little holiday cheer & connection with others can mean so much. I hope you get to come out & wrap yourself up in the wonder. Make sure to dress warm with layers! It's usually pretty chilly but when you get to the Tropical Discovery exhibit- it's a Sauna! So come enjoy some magic & share it with someone you Love! Happy New Year's Everyone!!!
Beautiful Christmas lights, great for families or couples! The walk is short so take your time. They serve beer, hot chocolate cocktails and plenty of snacks.
Went on a Tuesday night and had a really great time. It was definitely crowded, but not so crowded that it was unenjoyable. As for weekends, I'd be a bit nervous about that. It runs from 5:30-9pm. We got there at 6:30, and were there the entire time. Actually felt rushed at the end, so I'd recommend getting there as early as possible. Things would've taken even longer if it was more crowded. The lights were really nice. Different sections with different themes, and fun motion illustrative lights. There also felt like a good amount of exhibits open. Mainly the otters/fishing cats, elephants, giraffes, and a really great reptile/fish area. I went for free which was great. For $25 a person, I'd say it's worth checking out at least once to decide for yourself.
The lights were better than expected, lots of them and beautiful. The lines for hot cocoa were way too long waited about 35 minutes and then they were out and apple cider is not good the giraffes need more space, they looked very anxious pacing in their cells. The other exhibits were beautiful
Zoo lights Amazing! Well worth it! Food overpriced but actual lights were wonderful! We really enjoyed it!
We went to CU Night zoo lights with friends and about five minutes in my son got sick from a stomach virus. We left right away and called the next day to see if we might be able to transfer tickets or get entrance a different day since we didn’t really get to experience anything. They said tough we can’t do that. It is what it is but in this age where organizations usually work to keep customers happy I was left feeling like they don’t care more than getting their revenue. I have been to zoo lights and I have to say the botanical gardens are MUUUUCH better. They’re incredible.
