Our Jefferson full-time faculty includes 12 clinicians, 4 PhD researchers and 4 educationally-focused faculty members. Our affiliate faculty at our outside institutions such as the Pediatric Urology Division at Nemours Alfred I DuPont Hospital for Children, our community affiliate located in Bryn Mawr and the Wilmington VA, enhance our overall teaching activities. Our faculty includes internationally recognized experts in all major fields of urology including endourology, laparoscopy, robotics, oncology, female urology, andrology, pediatrics and neurourology. The majority of our Jefferson-based faculties have completed formal fellowships and several faculty members have completed formal fellowship training in either laparoscopic or robotic prostatectomy. An outstanding complement of primary care academic urologists rounds out the clinical educational experience. Many of our physicians recognized in multiple regional and national "Best Doctors" or "Top Doctors" listings. We also are proud that two faculty members have been elected to the prestigious “American Association of GU Surgeons”, an organization with active membership limited to only 75 urologists.
Established in 1904, Jefferson's Department of Urology is one of the oldest and among the largest in the United States with internationally recognized experts in all major fields of urology.
