I highly recommend not attending Depaul CDM. Columbia College offers a much better program.
I’m graduating from DePaul’s Computer Science program this June and am confident in saying this school has professional, intelligent, and kind instructors. I’ve primarily taken CS courses because I transferred from a two-year college. I landed a post-grad job opportunity with a Fortune 500 company six months prior to graduating, which tells me this school has well prepared me for the modern computing industry. The platforms the school has licenses with have have helped me Handshake, LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud Services, etc.. DePaul has also helped me financially and mentally. Their career center has well-experienced mentors. Don’t let the tuition costs scare you—they are generous with their scholarships and grants and want to see you succeed. I plan to give back to the community in the future.
It's great to give the CDM students their own building. You feel like you are taken care of and given the resources you need when you see what depaul gives their students. Not everything about the school is great, but compared to others .... Depaul is a great school and their CS degree is amazing. Rigorous and challenging. Amazing experiences and great campus.
If you're looking for a quality education, look no further than DePaul. The CDM is a nice complex with space for students to study and up-to-date labs. It's very urban and different than most college experiences, but I'm okay with that
My review is specifically about the overall operations at DePaul, CDM Advising and instructor/faculty advisor Enid Montague. Anyone who is considering the Health Informatics program at DePaul, stop right here and check out The College of St. Scholastica that offers an online program in Health Informatics. It's 20K cheaper than DePaul. Their professors are top experts in the health information industry, which is untrue for the same program at DePaul. None of the instructors here have a formal education in Healthcare, just a few research papers in the field which were published. First of all, the whole student services place is so disorganized it's unbelievable. If you call, make sure to have a lot of patience because in order to get to the right person you would be transferred on average 4 times and will have to explain everything from the very beginning. It took them forever to process my financial aid and I was asked to submit a verification document again because my previous copy was lost in their system. They never respond to e-mails either, ever! Second of all, they offer a course substitution option if prior experience/education is proven. I have sent them a syllabus from my previous school. My course instructor approved it, but it needed to be approved by the advising department as well. I never got a response from my faculty advisor Enid Montague and John Glatz, a director of CDM Advising. I got an impression that they really do not care and do not value their students' time and resources. Lastly, they charge so much for the tuition and promise all the perks for the graduate students, which is not so true. I really thought that scholarships, stipends and assistantships was an option after the first year to help reduce the price of a really high tuition. What I found from some current DePaul students is that it's very challenging and complicated to get. After doing all the research and dealing with a chaotic student support system at DePaul, I decided to transfer and invest my money in an institution that has much more competent instructors/ administrative staff, who are available and accessible to their students and treat everyone with dignity and respect! The only thing that makes DePaul so attractive to many students is its hype location. I would not even consider that as an asset either. I was being followed by some very sketchy people on my way to the train a few times after my evening class. So safety is another factor, which turned me away from this school once and for all! I would think twice before enrolling in this school.
Couldn't be prouder than to be a Computer Science graduate student at DePaul University. The CS program is one of the best in the nation and in Illinois. Classes are taught by professors who are leaders in their industry. Not an easy program, but worth all the pain. Thanks DePaul.

DePaul's College of Computing & Digital Media, 3 schools are within this college, the School of Computing, the School of Design, & the School of Cinematic Arts. America's largest Catholic School & the 12th largest private, not-for-profit university in the nation, Founded in 1898.
Pretty great education, a bit pricey but I feel I learned everything I needed to get a job in the tech industry.
All of the animation staff are very passionate about their work and are willing to help and encourage their students. They are a very close knit network and welcome anyone who wants to start animating.
