Dr. G is great, his staff however...not so much. They are very unhelpful and inattentive. Ive been going to Dr. G for 5 years and now I am having issues refilling my prescriptions. They have changed their reason 3 times as to why they can not refill them. If you send them a message in their app, they respond but never put a name so you have no idea who you are speaking to. I definitely DO NOT recommend them.
Contacted Desert Family Medicine to transfer and make Dr. Gothelf my new Primary Care Provider. When I called, I was told that I could have my first appointment in a week. Being this was the best timeframe I had heard of in a long time I wanted to schedule that first appointment. When I was in the process of scheduling, after giving my insurance information, the appointment availability quickly changed. I was told that because of the insurance I had, I could not be seen for 6 months. When I questioned this change in scheduling I was abruptly hung up on. This is the new face of medical malpractice. Discrimination based on insurance.
I am not surprised that most of the comments here are pointing out the bad customer service from the front desk. I had an appointment today and was rudely asked to reschedule for another day. I was mins before my scheduled time not late but before. I am okay if the appointment with the doctor has to be rescheduled but the attitude front desk assistant was shocking. She was rude, unprofessional and demining. I say demining cuz when her tone didn't seem right and I felt like the treatment was poor I asked to cancel both me and my wife's appointment, to which the lady at the front desk passed a comment. She acted like teenage girls do when in a fight and need to have the last word. I cannot talk about how Dr Gothelf is as I didn't he did not meet us. But his reputation is being spoiled by his staff. Thus he just lost two patients and future referral due to his office staff and he is responsible for it.
Had a doctors appointment on Wednesday 4-20-2022 in the morning too see my dr. David Gothelf for a check up. The med assistant girl by the name of Katherine escorted me too one of the exam rooms she used 5 minutes of her time to test my blood pressure and go over my health concerns/symptoms for dr g to address. Katherine treated me well with a positive attitude. Waited exactly 30 mins in the same exam room Just to see dr. Gothelf, all of sudden being face masked. With his laptop computer he Carries. Had a fruitful visit with dr g went over my recent blood test results which it really well with my cholesterol, diabetes, kidney’s/fiber being very low. The office staff has good customer informative service. Will continue to go see doctor Gothelf on 6 months occasionstwice a year also recommend it to anyone looking for a doctor.
I want to be clear that I would be leaving 0 stars if that was an option. I have been a patient at this office for over 10 years. I called the office this morning to schedule an appointment to see my doctor. I called at 8am when the office opened, and was put on hold twice for 30 min. I left a message the 2nd time and finally received a call back at 2:52pm. When I finally had the chance to speak to Erica, she informed me that the office closes at 3pm keep in mind they called me 8 min before close. I kindly explained my frustration about scheduling an appointment and let them know I will no longer be coming back to their practice to which she responded by telling me the office opens at 8am and the doctors have been busy lately. Over the course of my 10 years going to the practice I have never had outstanding care, just mediocre experiences. When Dr. Gothelf sees you, he spends the majority of the appointment just looking at his computer and lacking bedside manner. The experience doesn't feel personal at all but in the last 2 years this practice has really just gone down hill.
I have been going to Dr. Gothelf's office for over 20 years. I dislike the rudeness with the front office but because of the great service I receive from Dr. Gothelf and Ginger Lane I have stayed. But as of 2/12/19 is my last day after 20.years due to they no longer accept my insurance. I would have been so nice or hell even courteous to have been notified sooner. But what can I expect with the customer service they offer!!! ,
My husband and I have been Dr G’s patients for 19 years and we have been very happy with the service and care provided. Referrals to other specialists have been mostly spot on. As with most doctors, his time with patients is limited but he answers all questions so it pays to be prepared for appointments and ask any questions you may have. The patient portal has been great too. They seem to answer any questions or requests via the portal pretty quickly.
Desert Family Medical practice in Henderson has the worse customer service. They will not work with patients schedules to schedule doctor appointments. They lack professionalism too. Ginger Lane is leaving the practice and they FAILED to notify her patients! No call, no letter nothing. Patients are just a way to make money. And the office manager is the same way. She has no customer service skills, doesn’t care about your “illnesses,” lacks professionalism and said, “I should look for another doctor.” Did she bother to listen, or help out, show compassion or professionalism! NO! Well they’re loosing now quite a few patients! Everyone that I work with had the same experience with this practice. And you think Ginger Lane as a PAC and having said the Nursing OATH would be more professional. But sadly the answer is no. She’s leaving the practice and doesn’t care about any of the patients she’s leaving behind at least the ones I know off. She sent no letter or phone call to give her patients a heads up that she leaving the practice. Leaving patients with chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure without any refills. The staff claimed they “needed” blood pressure readings. However, did they offer to have a CNA, LPN or an RN take the blood pressure readings like other professional Clinics do? Nope. It was to much of a hassle for them. They do NOT work with patients. I’d give them zero starts. But that wasn’t an option.
Just like many of the other reviews here, I am upset with the total disregard for the patient. Nobody in that office cares for the patient, we are just a payday for them. I went for an appointment in october, was scheduled to do bloodwork and follow up in February. I didn't even think twice about it. A couple weeks later, my wife went to the office. She told me that ginger lane was leaving the practice. I checked my appointment card and it was in February to see Dr. Gotlelt. Ginger knew she was leaving and didn't have the courtesy to tell me. Now, 2 weeks away from my appointment, I get a call that the bloodwork is bad, but this office has discharged me as a patient and I can not go back. They claim they sent letters and phone calls, they did not. So there answer to me was too bad for you, we can't see you, we can't help you. There should be a zero star rating for this office. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. THEY DO NOT CARE FOR THEIR PATIENTS. Receptionist is rude as well.
Their office shouldn't be surprised to read my review!!! Brunette, front receptionist I want to be clear about who I am reviewing is like a robot, cold and uncaring. They called me multiple times in a week to remind and change appts for me...when I went in for my appt. asked me "If I found another doctor, yet!" I knew my doc was leaving but give me heads up that your office IS NOT going to absorb me on their caseload-10+years I've been there...I've referred over 10 peopleand trust me I was referring them to Ginger Lane NOT the office staff! and no heads up on tossing me aside. Shame on you
