My wife and I recently bought a mid-century modern home and we wanted to decorate it with appropriate furniture. We looked at Woodcraft Furniture in Beavercreek and received a price. We then went to Design Sleep and Michael Koveleski, the owner was able to beat their price with no knowledge of the previous bid. Michael who was a furniture builder and finisher was very knowledgeable and spent an hour with us going over all the options. The furniture we chose is Amish handmade, solid wood that will last generations and doesn't really cost that much more than the mass produced MDF furniture that passes for "solid" wood these days and doesn't stand the test of time. This particular line of furniture is finished by the individual stores and the Design Sleep staff and their finishing technique was noticeably higher quality than the Woodcraft store. Delivery was also about half the price than other stores. Our delivery date is 8-12 weeks out since this furniture is handmade. I will update this review then, but I fully intend to give our future, quality furniture business to Michael and Design Sleep. UPDATE - Our furniture came in a couple weeks ago, but due to an illness in the family we were not able to take immediate delivery. Michael worked with us to push the delivery date out. Many companies would not want to store large items for extra weeks, but Michael was very accommodating. We took delivery of the furniture today and to say the least I was very impressed with their customer service. Gabe and Nathan were quite possibly the best delivery crew I have ever experienced. They were extremely professional and took immense care with the furniture and while working around the other furnishings in the house. They were very accommodating about getting the furniture set in the exact spot we wanted it and it looks fantastic. They cleaned up all plastic wrap and were in and out in record time. I have been and continue to be impressed with the entire Design Sleep organization and hope to buy more furniture in the future.
One of the most important purchases is a bed, especially the mattress. I bought a Talalay Latex Mattress from Mike three years ago. It is as comfortable as the day I bought it. I have sent dozens of friends and physical therapists to him and they've all been treated quite well. Whatever design you like from Latex to Micro Coil, Design Sleep will fit you up. The best and the only showroom of its kind, fitting your furniture needs.
We traveled all the way from Chicago to shop here because of the quality of the furniture and expertise that Michael provides! Today we purchased lamps that will frame our fireplace and took measurements for furniture that will be purchased in March once we determine layouts/dimensions. We love the comfort and compactness that this furniture provides and appreciate that Michael will deliver to Chicago, too. It's definitely worth the trip from both near and far! Our experience purchasing mattresses at Design Sleep was in short, phenomenal! We went looking for an quality, healthy organic, affordable, comfortable mattress, and left with so much more. Mike and Stacey were so approachable, knowledgeable, and helpful! They clearly have a passion for helping people have the best sleep possible. By the time we were done shopping, we knew just what would be right for us, and felt really good about our purchase. Truly, it was the best shopping experience I've ever had. The two men who delivered the mattresses were on time, super polite they took their shoes off every time they came in the house- without even being asked, and spoke to us so courteously!, and set the beds up quickly and efficiently. We were so happy, we ordered a mattress for our youngest three months later. WE could not be happier with our mattresses and pillows! Everyone is sleeping comfortably and easily. I will never shop elsewhere for bedding. Many thanks to Mike and Stacey!
I have researched and owned many sleep systems including a $10,000+ Hastens and the European slat system is by far my favorite. We have owned our Riviera mattress for 9 years and are extremely happy with it. We have a queen that is in two adjustable sides. My wife got a firm and I got a soft and after one week it was too firm so she unzipped it and switched it out for a soft and has been happy ever since. I also own a Casper bed in a box at another house and like the Riviera better and regret having not bought another Riviera instead of the Casper. The adjustability of the slats in conjunction with the ability to change the latex foam makes this bed more custom for you and you can get exactly what you need. I have recommended this bed to many people and everyone has been happy with it.The owner of the store Michael will bend over backwards to help you find the bed that is right for you and the personalized service he provides its amazing.
Michael is awesome! He genuinely listened to my needs and worked with me to find the pillow that suited me perfectly. He took his time with me, answered all of my questions and made me feel %100 taken care! I am so happy with my purchase and I will refer many friends and family to Design Sleep. Thank you, Michael!
After being told by my chiropractor to get a new mattress to replace my sagging memory foam and to help relieve my lumbar pain, only then I started looking for a new mattress. I did some light research for a coil mattress, and thought to go for one of the famous brands, and ended up placing an order - twice. For some reason however, I kept up the research, and have concluded what I need and want in my mattress: 1. Breathable and chemically safe material components Talalay Latex Hybrid - LH; and 2. proper support and pressure relief with zoning. - all the while lasting a long time! All of the mattress companies I contacted not only have one model of LH mattress, but the zoning source come from either the coil layer or at the latex foam layer. I thought maybe it's better if the zoning is sourced from the former, and that those were the only two source options. After a few weeks' worth of mattress review websites famous and obscure to youtube reviews, my search algorithms led me to a video about a famous LH mattress compared to one of Design Sleep's DS models. The material components and their sourcing immediately caught my attention. I found the components in the DS models to be straight forward and honest - from the top ticking, to the natural latex used, to the coils. So I got intrigued and checked out the DS website, and was amazed to discovered different latex hybrid models, not just one! I finally called the store and inquired about the youtube video and the model shown, and ended up talking to Mike! I was provided one of the most amazing customer services I ever had in buying anything! He politely asked about me and my husband so he could pick the right model for our needs and preferences, and he ended up recommending the Riviera model with the European adjustable slats. At first, I asked if I could get away with just getting the mattress, but Mike explained that the zoning comes from the slats layer. Being amazed and enlightened by this information, I've decided that this became the selling point for me. It is what I was looking for in terms of durable support with longevity. Satisfied with the mattress features, I finally made the jump to order and waited for it to arrive. Needless to say, I cancelled the order I had from a different company. When the Riviera model and adjustable slats finally arrived 3rd week after purchase and were set up, we slept on it and it felt like we're sleeping on the clouds! All the components contribute to how truly comfortable it feels. The zoning provides gentle support and is not aggressive that my mid-section is propped up! I love the fact that we can adjust firmness on each side, but my husband and I are both happy with the firmness level we have. The coil gauge set up that was configured by Mike there were two gauge pair options feel very supportive and just right for our bodies. It is also wonderfully comfortable, temperature-wise. The talalay latex does not feel hot. My husband was skeptical at first during my research, but now couldn't stop saying the mattress feels so good and said I did a good job! = It has now been a month and we're very happy with it. My lumbar has been less painful and continues to improve. I made a few slat adjustments by moving them all one row up. This slat setting flexibility makes me very happy with my decision to go with DS - This is not something the big mattress companies today have, if you're looking for reliable zoning. We also ended up getting their mattress protector due to its elasticity! I'd like to thank Mike and Kayla for an amazing customer service. I never felt pressured to buy and was not rushed at all. Even though we didn't get to meet because my husband and I live in the West coast, the level of customer service experience, expertise, and overall vibe was not in any way diminished. I'll be a repeat customer should we need another mattress in the future. Please keep up the good work and hope your business continues to flourish with your honest and humble work!
I have been to this store three times recently and have been pushed aside for other customers or ignored. I came in today ready to buy. There were two people in there helping customers except for me. I have bought a mattress from this company years ago when the customer service was really good. When I talked to the young female associate briefly and told her they had just lost a sale she said well you should’ve made an online appointment. Her attitude of oh well we lost the sale, no problem finished it for me. She did make the comment that they’ve been struggling since Covid because sales were down? This used to be a good place.
We have been customers of Design Sleep for over eight years and will never go any other place for our beds, bedding, or pillows! Our first purchases were Oxygen Pillows, which are awesome. Then we bought a new mattress with the European slat system and got the best sleep we've ever had. Last year we upgraded to the adjustable bed and moved our other mattress to the guest room lucky guests!. We only use the jersey sheets Design Sleep carries for our adjustable. We tried others but ended up returning them and heading back to Design Sleep. We also love the organic cotton pillow cases. Things you can't get in most local bedding stores. The entire experience, from day one, has been nothing but incredible. We can't say enough about the time, attention, knowledge and friendliness of Mike and Stacey. You will never regret making any purchase from Design Sleep.
Beyond customer service! Design Sleep is one of the best companies we have ever done business with. We have had our bed for 9 years and it is the still the best bed we have ever slept in. When our son was ready for a bigger bed there was no question where we would buy from. We found Design Sleep after learning how many chemicals are in conventional mattresses but after sleeping on these beds, we will never sleep on anything else. It has helped my back and neck issues immensely. It is also excellent that each side of the bed is customizable, my husband has the support he needs and I have the comfort I need. Great product, not to mention the level of service is outstanding, Mike the owner is fantastic!
