Every day is a great day to be a Shamrock!

Detroit Catholic Central High School is a private College Preparatory school for boys in grades 9-12. Founded by the Basilian Fathers in 1928, CC has a long tradition of teaching Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge to its students.
Since 1955 more than 440 Catholic Central students have been named National Merit Scholars, and in 2014 alone 90 students earned AP awards. Of these, 49 students were named AP Scholars, 22 were named AP Scholars with Honors, 19 were named AP Scholars with Distinction, and two were named National AP Scholars, scoring 4 or higher on eight or more AP exams. 99% of CC graduates go on to college, with 1% entering the military.
In addition to academic success, CC is also known for having an award-winning band, strong arts, and an athletic program that has won 55 State Championships, including 12 in the last five years. The Academic Team is CC's most successful program, with 19 State Championships and three National Championships since 1988.
Shamrocks are also widely recognized for having a tremendous amount of school spirit, with students forming life-long friendships during their time here. Student Sections at games, Spirit Assemblies, the Shamrock Shuffle, the Boys’ Bowl game, the DRIVE, and the fall dance are just a few of the well-known activities that promote school spirit, and the students are heavily involved with organizing the events.
Spirituality permeates everything about Catholic Central, from the optional daily masses offered in our Chapel before school, which are open to family and friends, to teams praying at the Grotto before their games. Students perform service hours, raise money for charity, go on retreats, and learn about the Catholic faith every day in class. We also have a number of students who are not Catholic, and while they will still learn about the Catholic faith our goal is to increase their own Spirituality, not to convert them to Catholicism.

Catholic Central High School recognizes parents to be the primary educators of their children and collaborates with them in helping their children to learn and grow in the Catholic faith. We provide a safe and challenging environment where mutual respect and high expectations are maintained through the active engagement of students in the learning process. The young men of Catholic Central learn holistically the ideals of the Basilian Fathers - goodness, discipline, and knowledge - so that they may become productive members of the Church and society.
