A nice little hidden gem. We love this place! Peaceful waterfront sites. Mature trees shade most of the sites. Lots of family friendly activities. And my personal favorite is it's 10 minutes away from home so we never have to hear, "are we there yet?"Service: 5/5
We had an absolute blast here as a great end of summer experience before school starts. Amazing weekend programming with kind and helpful staff. Lots to do for kids of all ages including a beautiful trail that goes around the lake. We stayed in one of the rustic cabins and it was sooooo nice - even had air conditioning! My parents brought their RV and were on a full hook-up lakeside spot. Just fantastic. Gorgeous sunsets. Great community. We are already planning a longer stay for next year!!
The staff in the front office, especially Sarah and Linda are the absolute best!! They are so helpful and kind and willing to work with guests to best accommodate everyone. Seriously made our whole trip! Plus Saturday was karaoke night and the whole place was turned into a block party. Plus there’s a lake to swim in complete with water slide and beautiful sunsets. Definitely recommend a stay at this place and a chat with the wonderful staff!!
We stayed here with our 2 1/2 year old gradaughter awaiting the arrival of our Grandson. We had a blast . Staff so friendly and accommodating to our needs. Our site was 51 and when we called it was last minute and we were lucky they had this last site available. Fate was on our side I guess. They had tons to do for kids. And everything was so clean. We will definitely be back . This time bring both grandkids. Thanks for a great and memorable trip. Safety: They made sure that people were doing speed limit . And making sure they took every precautions ti keep everyone safe. Safety is always first priority. So thanks Walkability: Loved the trail around the lake. You feel like you are a million miles a but so close . Loved it
Just returned from a 4 day stay. Staff was great, campground was nice. Its very quiet. The lake is great for swimming and fishing. Nice hiking trail. My only criticism is the roads. They have dirt roads all throughout the campground and there are some very serious holes. We needed to be VERY careful because they were bad enough to bottom out a car if you hit some of them. I did speak with someone as we were leaving and they indicated that they were going to be working on those.
We stayed in the Lakeside Lodge. Everything was very clean and quiet. It was a beautiful setting where our grandson could enjoy fishing right outside our lodge. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated Sam's recommendation for an authentic Detroit-style pizza at Buddy's. It was delicious! We also enjoyed the trail around the lake. We definitely plan to come again!
Went "Glamping" Glam-Camping with some girl friends! Never been camping but it was fun and refreshing! My friend had a camper and it was a small sized apartment. Absolutely cozy and comfortable. It had all the necessary amenities and our location was by the beautiful water which was amazing to look out at.Rooms: 5/5
This was the worst KOA park experience we’ve ever had! For the cost of staying there we expect much more! They gave our site away without notifying us, and they were made aware that we were camping with friends, and they moved us way down the road from them. They offered us no resolution. Even though the staff “seems” pleasant, our issues fell on deaf ears. The roads are terrible! all dirt, not maintained, full of potholes large enough to swallow our 30 ft camper., and we were lucky enough to have rain during our stay which turned the roads into mud pits. After the rain stopped, we still were not able to take a walk due to all the mud and water filled potholes. On a positive note, there is a really nice lake, which brings the geese…… I know you can’t control all the goose droppings, but we feel that you should at least be making an effort to clean the sites after each camper. I’m not sure why check out is 11:00am and check in is 2:00pm. If you’re not going to perform any kind of maintenance on the sites. We had to clean the site of all the goose droppings before we could even set up. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this KOA again.
Convenient location. Nice staff. Unfortunately, due to a massive storm that down poured 5 inches of rain while we were there, some of the campsites,1-9 were flooded. Also, the campground has dirt roads, very little gravel. They were working on the pot hole situation while we were there. The campsites in the woods are all dirt very little to none had any type of grass.
Don't leave many reviews but the effort has to be recognized. Such a hard-working and selfless staff! I've been coast to coast Thank God and not biased cause I'm from Michigan I've never had a better experience at a campground! I usually spend most my time primitive camping and being at a campground where I can enjoy the amenities is a nice change! Such clean facilities is a rarity these days. If you want to shower and do your laundry or need to purchase anything you may have forgotten to bring with ya. I mean, if you do it happens to the best of us, but they got ya covered in the front office! Anything ya need! : Really love you guys, Thanks! A.L.
