The Diamond Bar – Pomona Valley Task Force of the Sierra Club, Angeles Chapter, addresses regional conservation issues in the cities of Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Rowland Heights, Walnut, Pomona, West Covina, San Dimas, LaVerne, Claremont, stretching from the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains to Puente-Chino Hills.
Our task force monitors human activities, which pose threats to natural open space and wildlife habitats within the region. We are interested in California Native trees, plants, wildlife connectivity, green infrastructure, water supplies, air quality and transportation.
A long-term focus of our work is Tres Hermanos Ranch, Tonner Canyon, Diamond Bar hills/valleys, trails and San Gabriel Mountain watersheds.
Our goals are to set examples for ecosystem conservation; to promote environmental literacy and the cultural heritage and historic significance of the urban wildland interface.
Our members include representatives from the San Gabriel, Diamond Bar, Puente Chino Hills, and Los Angeles groups and any other interested Sierra Club members. The task force works in partnership with government agencies, elected leaders, conservancies, cities as well as community groups and nonprofit conservation groups, to support environmental literacy and best practice solutions for development projects proposed within our region.
To Explore, Enjoy & Protect the natural ecosystems in our community: wildlife habitats, native trees, plants gardens, water, natural open space, trails and parks.
