We stopped here after a visit to Crater Lake to grab food and hang out at the lake. It wasn't crowded at all and it was a perfect day. We had fish n chips and it was pretty good nothing out of the ordinary. I was disappointed though because the website wasn't updated. They still show bumper boats as an option when in fact they haven't been available for years. We were looking forward to going on them because they look fun but it's ok. Hopefully they bring them back again one day. They do offer kayaks and water bikes I believe, as well as boats for fishing. They also have paid bicycles for rent. Prices to rent are so reasonable! It isn't a "fancy" resort by any means, so don't have that expectation. However it's a great place to hang out and relax with the family kids, dogs, etc.
Friendly service and nice basic restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The cabin we rented was built in the 1940s, so it wasn't in great shape, but nothing out of a nightmare. Bathrooms are tiny. Lake is awesome. Everyone seemed to be enjoying relaxing around the lake.
I have gone to Diamond Lake several times over the years. I love the rustic and low-key cabins. The staff was friendly. Enjoyed the restaurant. The only thing is that the beds aren't very comfortable. The mattress seems cheap and uncomfortable. But a great location to unplug as the internet is spotty and quiet. Fishing and family time without technology. Nearby activities: Summer has pattleboats and kayak for rent. Swimming, Fishing, bike/walking trail around lake. Close to Crater Lake Close to Umpqua waterfalls for hiking Walkability: Resort, walking trail around lake Food & drinks: Restaurant at lodge, outdoor alcohol area, delicious pizza down the road
Built right alongside Diamond Lake it's beautiful to sit either inside the restaurant or get a table alongside the lakes edge. They have really good home made pizza, lots of options too. If you aren't totally full, out front there's a walk up window to treat yourself to fresh Umpqua ice-cream too! Delicious...Rooms: 4/5
If you are looking for a 5 star experience, then don't go here. Please stay away, If you are looking to enjoy a great lake with food and lodging "just like it always used to be" then enjoy it! Unless you rent out one of the new cabins........ those are very nice.
This place is very close to Crater Lake, only 30 minutes drive. Diamond lake is beautiful and clear. There are plenty of things to do around the lake. We did horse back riding, paddle boarding, motor boating, and swimming. There are LOTS of mosquitoes everywhere in the resort. We stayed in the two bedroom cabin for two nights. The cabin was quite dirty and there were so many bugs in it such as mosquitos, spiders, flies both alive and dead. We found spiders in our beds as well. The facilities in the room were old and with grime. We were quite disappointed at the cabin considering the high price we pay for each night near 300 /night. We also ate at the restaurant by the lake. The food and service were pretty good but it took almost an hour for the food to come. So be prepared if you are very hungry. The lady at the front desk was very nice. However she was not very familiar with the surroundings and couldn’t even answer questions like how long it takes to get to Crater Lake or which road to take to get to I-5 We didn’t have any cellphone signals there so had to ask her.
Pretty cool place. Free venue, the band playing outside on the deck overlooking the lake was really cool. Food truck in addition to the lodge restaurant. Great place, but everybody and their mother knows it and will be there too.Location: 5/5
The location can't be beat. The cabins are basic, but comfortable. My kids were somewhat aghast that there was not cell coverage and no Wifi. The restaurant was OK but suffered from inadequate staffing -- not the server's fault, they were just overworked.Rooms: 3/5
We stayed in a cabin and rented a boat for the day. Found the fish and caught our limit. Had a fish fry that evening. The weather was incredible, and the stay was cozy. Only thing missing was a fire pit- but we understand. We'll be back!!Rooms: 4/5
A wonderful place to stay with a gourmet restaurant. Beautiful setting. Fishing headquarters. Boats and kayaks for rent. Close to a bunch of amazing waterfalls Watson and Tokatee and less than an hour from Crater Lake and the Rogue Gorge. Clean, TV.Rooms: 5/5
