Had a business lunch next door at Salute and ran next door to pick up frozen ravioli, gnocchi and sauces. Cooked the ravioli last night - smoked mozzarella and roasted red peppers. IT WAS AMAZING!!! I love their products and staff was very helpful and nice.
Is the Rocky Hill location actually closing and when? No one will give a straight answer, and I personally think it's messed up to close without informing your customers ahead of time. Customers are the people that keep your business going, and you're just going to shut down the location without letting them/us know? Incredibly disrespectful. Things definitely went downhill.
Used to love coming here to stock up on fresh pasta and fresh made foods. Now when you go so many of the fridges/freezers are half empty and no more of the variety of olive oils and balsamic. Most times I go there is no garlic bread. Dates on things are iffy. Seems to be going down hill. Super sad because we loved coming here.
I was really looking forward to eating what I thought would be the best lasagna, but my family and I were quite disappointed with the lack of hamburg in it, and it was literally drowning in mozzarella cheese on top. I love cheese, but it had so much that it overwhelmed the lasagna. And they barely put any meat in it! I paid $48 for the tray and it was not worth it. Extremely disappointed!!
As I sit here awaiting the arrival of my houseful of guests I ponder the fact that all of the food I ordered for this dinner sits behind locked doors at DiFiore Pasta shop. I have no food to serve!!! When I ordered this I asked the question, “ Will you be open on Monday 12/26??? “I think so” Was the reply. “I must know absolutely,”was my reply. The young man put me on hold, replied, “yes, we’re open because there are lots of other pick-ups for Monday 12/26 “. So to all you others who have no food today I say , I hope you found other options and shame, shame, shame on the POOR management at DiFiore Pasta Shop.
Nothing fresh to choose from. Supplies are non existent. The piece of cake I bought said it cost $3.25 on the printed label and I was charged $3.50. How old was that piece of cake!!!???...the price went up since it was put in the refrigerator!! ALL the "fresh frozen" food in the freezer had freezer burn. The food in the deli case looked old, like it had been sitting there for a week. Not fresh looking. Way, way over priced. Won't go there again.
Disappointed in their fresh ravioli that seemed as if they were stuffed with crean cheese rather than ricotta. Old fashioned pizza was awfully bland and tasted like a can of crushed tomatoes was simply dumped on it and sprinkled with very little parmesan. Prepared foods were sparse, broccoli Rabe was decent but very little garlic in it. Quart of marinara sauce - I've had better store bought from a jar! Price was outrageous for what I purchased!
There’s no comparison between the hand frozen pasta other stores offer and freshest and carefully hand cut pasta you get at DiFiores. Maybe a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. Most first time customer become regulars.
Delicious ravioli!! Can't wait to stop in again soon.
Was there for first time. Didn't make the ravioli or sauce yet but they had free sample tri color italian cookies and I had to sit in ny car for 2 minutes pondering if I should go back in to get a dozen of them because they were so good. I already had a tart and cake so I decided against it. I now regret it but will be back for sure
