DiFrancesco, Bateman, Kunzman, Davis, Lehrer & Flaum, P.C. has been part of the legal fabric of New Jersey since 1917. The firm was started by Irving Kunzman in Plainfield, New Jersey. He was subsequently joined by his brother, Ira, than his son Edwin. The Kunzman law firm began methodical growth in the representation of individuals, real estate developers, and local public entities through the 1970s. Harry Yospin joined the firm in 1971, and the firm expanded further into litigation, including Stephen J. Bernstien, who is now a Judge in the Superior Court. The subsequent merger with John E. Coley, Jr. added a more dedicated focus in the representation of local public entities. The firm expanded with the later addition of Donald T. DiFrancesco as he entered the Presidency of the New Jersey Senate and later become Governor and with the addition of Christpher “Kip” Bateman when he became a member of the New Jersey Assembly and later a member of the New Jersey Senate. As the firm moves towards its centennial, it continues as essential part of the legal community of New Jersey. Members of the firm include attorneys who have been A-V Rated by Martindale & Hubbell, attorneys that have been certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as civil, criminal and matrimonial trial attorneys and are leading members of the New Jersey trial bar, leading transactional attorneys, and key attorneys in technology and privacy law and a former Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
