Dixie Beverage Company is the trading name for Shenandoah Valley Distributing Company, Inc. that was incorporated in 1948. This company was bought by Doug and Lorraine Hottel in 1978. At that time Dixie Beverage was a 3 truck operation with 8 employees covering 6 counties in northwestern VA. Major brands at that time were National Bohemian and Black Label beer. From those humble beginnings, Dixie Beverage now employs over 80 employees and has 35 to 40 delivery trucks on the road 5 days a week. It sells many national, regional and local brands of beer, wine, cider and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition to the original 6 counties, Dixie Beverage now sells non-alcoholic products from Rockingham County, Virginia to Washington County, Maryland and the entire state of WV.
