Dixie Sun is a PreK-5 Dual Immersion School with students gaining fluency in Spanish and English.
At Dixie Sun Elementary all children gain fluency in Spanish and in English. Children are immersed 50% of the time in Spanish and 50% of the time in English. In 2005 teaching in two languages began in kindergarten and first grade. Each year a new grade level has been added. By 2014-2015 Dixie Sun Elementary was the only completely bilingual public school in Utah. Language learning is combined with vocal and instrumental music instruction to make an early cognitive impact on young children that promotes excellence in all academic areas.
