Founded by local JMU students, 'doah foothills is an American clothing line originated in the Shenandoah Valley region in Virginia.
'doah foothills is a local clothing line startup created for a College of Business Entrepreneurship class by JMU students Kevin Connors, MacRae Collie, and Austin Fallon. The company is inspired by the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our societal initiative is to encourage people to step away from the complexities of life, slow down, and Explore, Dream, and Discover. Let your free spirit breath, baby!
Proceeds are donated to Blue and Gray Search and Rescue, a volunteer wilderness organization serving the Mid-Atlantic region. Blue and Gray is a member of the Virginia Search and Rescue Council (VASARCO) and operates as a state resource under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM). They train search dogs to find people lost in wilderness as well as those who may be missing due to natural disasters. These dogs are owned and trained by our members. Members typically incur out-of-pocket expenses which may exceed $2,500 a year for mileage, personal equipment (e.g., uniform, backpack, compass, training aids, etc.), and veterinary expenses.
Fielding operational teams is an expensive endeavor and many of our costs for team equipment and operating expenses are offset through your generous donations. Public contributions cover costs of team radios, pagers, GPSs, life jackets, topographical maps, special training seminars, and other major expenses which members are not expected to cover.
