Whoever answers the phone there is RUDE. My son is visiting his dad on the island and is sick. I’m 4.5 hours away. I called her to provide my sons military health insurance information and she wouldn’t take it over the phone, and said his dad needed the card or he would have to pay out of pocket. She said it is a HIPAA violation to provide the information over the phone I’ve had to do this so many times. I asked her what it violated and she hung up on me. When I called back because it’s the only urgent care open on the island at this time I get no answer. From someone with legal experience and customer service experience, I would rethink having her answer the phones. Secondly, learn the answer to what it violates instead of hanging up on people or don’t work in healthcare.
Got taken fairly quickly and was told how to take care of a very infected finger that needed to be drained . Miss Helen was thorough and concise. Nursing staff were extremely nice as well .
Worst urgent care experience. Signed up online around 9:30am for a sick appt for my son. Completed all pre-registration info including insurance and primary care doctor contact. Received text message shortly before noon to arrive anytime in the next half hour through 12:30. Upon arrival we "checked in" at the front desk and were told to take a seat. At that time I notice we were listed as #1 on the next patient list. Over the next 45 minutes they proceed to call 3 other patients from the wait room. At that point I ask the receptionist how the video board works since we are first but they continue to call other patients. She proceeds to tell me she has yet to confirm his information in the system and until then will not be called. Hearing this was one of the most infuriating things Ive heard. My son is sitting there in noticeable stomach pain and the reason he had yet to receive care was due to an inept receptionist. Then about 15 minutes later the same receptionist called me back up requesting I make payment for the care we had yet to receive. I politely told her that is not how our insurance works. We do not have any copays or required upfront payments. They are to bill insurance and afterward we are responsible for the portion not covered by insurance. She says that is not the way it works there. I again more forcefully told her that is not how our insurance works and would not be making any payment. At that point she said they would not provide care. I immediately grabbed my son and went to the HHI hospital ER where I am now writing this review. Fully intend to go back later today or tomorrow and ask for the office manager to file a complaint. Stay away
I got stung by a sting ray and came in bleeding and in extreme pain. They got me back right away and starting treating me. I have never experienced pain like that before and I have had 5 unmedicated childbirths. I so appreciated their attentiveness and their kindness during a very stressful time for me.
Absolutely horrible, the front desk sat there and talked about how stupid tourists are they should be fired, they only turn out 1 patient every 1hr and 15 minutes, any time you ask for a time update they always say your next, we brought our 10 month old in to have a rash looked at, 3hrs later we’re being looked at funny cause she’s crying like maybe do your job and see patients and there wont be kids crying in your waiting room, would never go here absolutely horrible people the girls at front talk so impolitely to people, doctors care should at least be honest and say they can only handle one patient a day. They are so lazy
Total SCAM !!! I'M A 5-STAR OWNER OF 3 BUSINESSES AND I TOOK MY WIFE HERE TO GET TESTED FOR COVID. SHE HAS GOOD INSURANCE THROUGH HUMANA CHOICE AND THEY CHARGED ME $300.00 !!! I QUESTIONED THE WOMAN BUT SHE DEMANDED THE MONEY !!! SO I RELUCTANTLY PAID IT. THE SCAM DOCTOR HERE IS DR. HELEN VANSANT!!!! WE CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND FOUND OUT WE ONLY SHOULD HAVE PAID A $15.00 CO-PAY!!!
Ridiculous wait time, even after you sign up and book your appt. online. I got a text that they were ready to see me. I was there within seven minutes because I live down the street. After waiting there for over two hours, I finally left. The guy at the front glass desk was so busy on his cell phone that his coworker had to tap the desk in front of him and point to me so that he could see someone had been standing there waiting. You are better off to go to the emergency room at the hospital.
Went in today to get a strep test done. First I waited in the lobby which was empty for 20 minutes. Which that's not bad considering it was a walk in appointment. Once I was called back the young blonde nurse who was very nice and helpful ran the strep test and asked my symptoms. Once she ran the rest she told me a physician would be in shortly to share the results. About an hour had gone by, so I looked outside my room and saw no one. After tracking someone down I asked "when do you think somekne will be able to see me about my test results?" Which must have been so rude of me to ask.... She gives a deep breath and says," we only have one physician and she's busy" I said" alright thank you" as if what she said answered my question. And walked back to my room. While walking back the same girl I just spoke to says out loud "what is everyones deal today?" Not very professional..... 40 more minutes later the doctor comes in with the same attitude "hello I'm blah blah Blah the physician how can I help you today" "I'm just waiting for the results of the strep test I took earlier" She then looked at me like I was an idiot "okay I'll say it again I'm blah blah blah, how can I help you today?" Very unprofessional crew of people working there. I understand if I have to wait because something happened, but when nobody is moving in the entire building is moving and I ask for an update, I should not be spoken to like that. I'm not one to go on Google to review companies/businesses, but this was the WORST experience I have had at a walk in clinic. If you are SICK or DYING, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT 1 star because I can't figure out how to give it 0 stars...
This was my second time using Doctors Care. The PA, Lola was very helpful. It is no fun to be sick on vacation but I was so glad that Doctors Care was able to help me so I could feel better
I had a great experience. Staff, nurse & doctor made a trip that’s never fun, easy and quick. I received amazing care and they listened to all my concerns.
