I had a great experience there in December. The PA who works there is great. I went in today and was treated so rudely by the receptionist that I left. It is surprising that I have read so May posts about the reception but not much done about it.
Absolutely horrible experience! We are visiting NOLA and my wife was not feeling well. Found this place near our hotel and we decided to go there in a big part because of their online reviews. We know they closed around 6 pm. We rushed and arrived around 5:25 pm. The receptionist asked my wife what is the problem and she described her symptoms. I know she is stressed. They basically wanted to go home and didn’t want to take care of her. I explained my disappointment and reassured them we are not staying there and as we turned around the receptionist started laughing at us. What kind of person in the medical field would act in this way towards their patients?? Completely unprofessional, a total lack of empathy. But I get it, they wanted to go home so my wife had to wait! Don’t bother going to this place.
They require masks when the CDC doesn't recommend wearing masks in healthcare settings except in areas of high Covid transmission, and Jefferson Parish is not a high Covid transmission area. Weird. Also, the business is called "Doctors After Hours," but you can't see a real doctor.
I came back because a year ago I visited for the first time ; there was a new lady that started and it was her first day training! She was so kind and sweet! I can’t remember her name but I recently saw her once again last month when I came in for the flu like symptoms! Wow! I was happy to see her still there! Kindness goes along way! God Bless You! Thank you for making me feel better! Everybody here at this after hours doctor is friendly!
Unfriendly staff. Long wait time. Unable to assist with flu vaccination and TB test. Do not recommend visiting this location. Much nicer facilities in the surrounding area providing more efficient service and superior patient care.
I’ve used this service twice in the last 2-3 yrs, oddly enough both for animal bites 1 dog, 1 cat. The services were very good on both occasions. I used DAH primarily due to convenience since I live nearby. However I do have to comment on the lack of care that their property receives. Since there’s a Burger King next door they are the recipient of considerable trash. And the ruts and mud on the street side of their sidewalk is unsightly and often muddy. While the trash doesn’t come from them or their patients and the right of way near the sidewalk may very well officially belong to the Parish, the bottom line is that it presents a very poor image and is a bit off putting. My original impression was ‘that if they can’t take care of their property, how do they take care of their patients?’ Just one person’s opinion. Or is it??
All I have to say is I enjoyed being “In” and was sort of sad when I had to walk “Out”. The staff had lots of personality along with professionalism which is double whammy. Nowadays it’s hard to find both when these urgent cares are on more corners than McDonald’s. The all female staff did an excellent job from putting up with my antics all the way to properly diagnosing my issue. “Superman” with swollen ankles aka kankles left feeling good about my situation which has improved in the last 24 hours. I would've given them more stars but stupid Google doogle can only count up to 5 but they can track your every move without your knowledge.
The best medical care that I have every gotten for my mother in years. The staff and doctor were professional, compassionate and addressed all of her needs. They spent time with us and gave us an excellent referrals for follow-up care. Highly recommend. We would return if needed.
Disrespectful staff, unfriendly and unprofessional. Please so yourself a favor and go to another urgent care.
We were seen quickly by very pleasant and quite competent medical personnel. The diagnosis proved to be spot on and meds resolved the problem within days. Highly recommend.
