Charles W. "Chuck" Doerflinger and William J. "Bill" Eledge joined forces on May 1, 2013 to create the law firm of Doerflinger & Eledge, PLLC.
Chuck Doerflinger is a graduate of the Emory University School of Law and has practice law in Lawrenceburg, TN since 1975. Chuck Doerflinger is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Lawrence County Bar Association, fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, former member of the Board of Governors of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, former member Board of Directors for South Central Tennessee Legal Aid.
W. William J. “Bill” Eledge has been licensed to practice law in Mississippi since 1999 and in Tennessee since 2000. He was born and raised in Lawrence County, Tennessee.
William J. Eledge graduated from Memphis State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He then served as a uniformed Police Officer with Columbia Police Department, Columbia, TN from 1990 to 1993. He is a Graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Donelson, Tennessee.
From 1993 to 1995, Bill served as a Special Agent Criminal Investigator with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Drug Enforcement Division. His duties included planning, coordinating & personally conducting undercover drug operations in a nine county area of West Tennessee. He is a Graduate of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Special Agent School and is a Graduate of the DEA Drug Investigator Training School in Macon, Georgia. He was also certified as a Child Sexual Abuse Investigator by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
In 1999, William J. Eledge graduated from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree. He was the University of Memphis Mock Trial Champion in 1999.
William J. Eledge was an Associate Attorney with Goeldner & Walsh, PLC, Southaven, Mississippi, 1999 to 2000. In 2000 William J. Eledge moved back to his hometown of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee where he founded the Eledge Law Firm. He was in Private Law Practice at the Eledge Law Firm from 2000-2004.
William J. Eledge was an Assistant District Attorney from November 5, 2004 to March 1, 2007 where he served as a Special DUI Prosecutor for Maury & Lawrence Counties. His duties as a Special DUI Prosecutor included providing specialized training to police officers in DUI enforcement and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which included providing specialized presentations to police officers at the Tennessee Highway Patrol Academy, the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy at Donelson, TN and at various training courses offered by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
William J. Eledge re-entered private practice at the Eledge Law Firm in March 2007 where he remained until May 2013 when he became a Partner in the law firm of Doerflinger & Eledge, PLLC. He has been certified as a Civil Case Mediator in Mississippi and certified as a Mediator for the U.S. Postal Service for Employee EEOC Complaints.
William J. Eledge has served as defense counsel in numerous Criminal and Civil jury trials (including Death Penalty, 1st Degree Murder, and DUI trials as a defense attorney).
William J. Eledge has served in over 300 cases as either Guardian Ad Litem (representing the child’s best interest) or as counsel for Juvenile Delinquent children, including numerous Termination of Parental Rights trials & Adoption proceedings. He has handled legal Appeals to the Tennessee Court of Appeals, the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Tennessee Supreme Court. He has also represented clients in various Estate matters including Opening/closing of Probate Estates as well as serving as Guardian Ad Litem in Adult Conservatorship Petitions and Adult Protective Services cases.
William J. Eledge currently serves as Chairman for the Lawrence County Public Library Board of Trustees. He is a Member of the Salem Church of Christ and has been married to his wife Kelley for over 20 years. They have 3 daughters- Madison (August 10, 1998 – February 5, 1999), Anna age 15, Sinclair age 13, and son Alex age 11.
