Flavor: B Service: A+ Homemade Sodas: A Solo dining: A A true drive-in! With outdoor seating too. My hot dog was nothing too special but my Dogs n Suds black cherry soda was awesome. The real star of our experience, though, was our server Olivia. She was an all-star in every way. Olivia knew the answers to all of our questions, had great recommendations, and even helped us with some of our activity planning.
I lived down the street from Dog n Suds when I was a child, so this drive-in has been a part of my life for at least 50 years. Quick, and friendly service. Terrific food. I have no idea at all what anything tastes like, aside from the coney dogs, Texas burgers, and root beer.
The young lady who served us was wonderful. They were extra busy as it was lunchtime and there was a fundraiser occurring Saturday. She was very sweet and apologized for the longer wait. The food was very tasty and we are talking about going back soon for milkshakesFood: 5/5
Been here twice in the past month. First time it took more than 30 minutes for our food and drinks hot dog, corn dog, fries, slaw, and root beer to be served. Today was about a 15 minute wait for two hot dogs, fries, slaw, and fried mushrooms. Although the food tastes pretty good, it takes too long and you get 6 SIX mushrooms for $4.39 plus tax! Better off going to Luke’s in Mundelein!!!
Great food, great location and friendly service. Just a short walk to town, the library or Central Park. We love this place. Try the Texas Burger. Thick sost bun, two chargrilled patties and slightly sweet Coney sauce. You can now order at your table right from your phone and really customize your order.Food: 5/5
Been going to Dog N Suds since I was a kid decades and have always loved the food however last year I believe they changed their fries and I'm not a fan. They are often dry. Their prices have also gone way up. I often sit waiting too long for someone to come take my order and sometimes they go to cars that arrived after me 1st. Food takes forever & before the owner responds with their token response "orders are taken in order of receipt & sometimes take longer with events"...no they take a long time even without events. Items ordered either don't come or come wrong. Last visit the girl went back 3 times. She misheard 1 item, 1 item was missing and then had to go back for a receipt which took so long, I thought she forgot. I always order to go because I know I'd wait forever for someone to grab the tray. Also orders can no longer be called in over the phone. Now they want you to connect online and place your order there which is a pain when on the go. Unfortunately it'll be a long time before I go back.
Went here for a quick meal the other night. The server was very nice and got us everything we needed. The food on the other hand was disgusting, I’d hate to say. Texas burger was mediocre, frozen beef patties. Chicken was frozen Tyson nuggets. I couldn’t even finish the chicken wrap I bought. Fries were good at least. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here.
Cool little joint. But the food leaves a lot to be desired. Decent sandwhich.. 6$ for chicken tenders that were rubbery as hell..Food: 2/5
Not a fan of their burgers because of the burnt patty. I don’t know if that’s really their style or if it was a one-time mistake but I would definitely not order their burgers again. I couldn’t taste the beefiness of the patty or anything else aside from the burnt taste. However, I did enjoy the sides. I absolutely love their perfectly seasoned fries! The fried mushroom is good too, especially with the included ranch. It has the same batter as the usual jalapeño poppers available in other food places e.g. Sammies so if you like those, you’ll probably like this too. Ambiance is good. It’s the typical drive-in but what sets them apart is they provide a food tray that can be placed/clipped to your car’s windowsill.
I grew up on Dog N Suds in Indiana and was happy to find that they had a few of them around this area as well. The service has always been good and of course the food is great too. There is just something fun about have your food brought out to the car and enjoying with friends and family. One of the best root beers you can buy. If you're used to the Dog N Suds in Indiana it is a little different since they use Chicago Dogs here which has more of a snap to the skin but the flavor is still great. Make sure you follow them on Facebook, they post about local community nights and other village events. They have had Air cooled VW nights in the past and it looks like some Grayslake village festivals coming up soon too. Some good ole classic Americana.
